Nah. I mean, I guess that's just me. I have about 87/86 friends. Most are from school, a few are from my times with the FB apps, and the rest are from sites I frequent like here or Gaia Online. or from the natural hair groups/pages. Unless I was some kind of online or offline personality, I just think it's like the Myspace effect--adding just to add.

But then again, some people just happen to know a lot of people.

I have 89 friends -all people who I know well in person and I've pretty much had the same amount of friends since I signed up like 5 years ago.

Vampire Wars... to kick ass in that damn game you need "clannies" .... 600 friends easy.

I am actually shocked no one else said that because VW is not even the most remotely popular game on that damn site.... but its the only game I play. I didn't have the foresight to have a profile just for gaming.

Other than that... its a few good friends, a few orgers and family members you make fast plans for dates and meet ups. That count is maybe less than 50 for me.

That's why people have a lot of friends mostly, no big mystery... no popularity contests... no insecurities... none of that weird shit. Thought most people knew that.

Not unless you want random acquaintances from the past knowing details of your life that they don't deserve to e.g. what you're doing these days, where you're at, even your favourite music & movies!

I don't have facebook for that very reason. The people I'm close to contact me through more personal means (text, call, face to face?) and they don't need some silly social network to know what I like or where I'm at.

Having 200-500 extra friends? I bet some of them are trying to be your friend for the wrong reason.

People friend you just to friend you. They're not gonna literally come to your door if you're sick so again why even have that many when only one of your personal friends could be there to help you unless you're really lonely and can only depend on yourself.
