This sucks, it fucking sucks. Travis Beckum couldn't block me.

I guess the Giants didn't offer him the same amount of money. Money would be the ONLY reason a person would leave the Giants and go to the Raiders!!!!

I don't know what to expect from the Giants this year. They haven't done anything to improve since last year and just seem to be content on saving money. What the hell is that?

Deion Sanders and Shannon Sharpe had me in tears at different points of their speeches last night at the Hall Of Fame inductions.

Deion spoke of being ashamed of his mom at a point in his life because she cleaned hospitals while his friends parents owned things and were had "spectacular" jobs. He spoke of how he was ashamed of her work while she did what she did to just give him what he needed. He said he was ashamed of what she did for a living all while she did her very best to protect him. I felt he was now ashamed of having EVER been ashamed of his mom for doing honest work. He went on to say how he vowed he would do whatever necessary so she would never have to work again after being ridiculed by someone who found out his mom cleaned for a living.

Shannon spoke of how he is the second best player in his family. This was his way of saying his brother Sterling, who's not in the Hall of Fame, should be in the Hall Of Fame. Sterling began to cry and then I began to cry. Nothing like sibling love and appreciation. These are the people that knew you from "back when". They know all the shit - the good, the bad and the ugly. It's nice if at a certain age you can still have that love and appreciation for them and from them.

I didn't see any of the other speeches, but I'm sure they were just as emotional.

Catch it online if you can.

I found the entire enduction ceremony to be overblown, especially the speeches. They're given a time limit and they should be required to stick to it. I started watching ever speech and ended up fast-forwarding (I recorded it) through each one in turn. Cringe-worthy. I've seen great, hearfelt speeches many times. A good 90% of what those guys did was self-aggrandizing hot air.

That being said, I liked what Shannon said about his brother, even though he took it too far and it came of like he was a HOF lobbyist. I also liked what Deion said about his mother, but in the end it was all done to make himself look good. Also, he could have done it with just a handful of sentences, not a ten minute sermon. I actually thought his taking the time to have a well prepared, easy to read and listen to list of people to thank at the beginning was the bast part of his speech.

I don't watch the speeches, but a lot of the newer inductees have or want TV gigs or endorsements. They're gonna promote themselves.

The Giants will be fine. shrug The NFC East only has one other team in the Eagles. And even though GB won the ring the NFC is still pretty whack. lol

Giants have big question marks in the secondary (safety), LB corps(as always) and at DT.

Offensive line will be pieced together it seems plus nothing settled at FB or TE. I'm still ticked over losing Boss. He wasn't Mark Bavaro, but the dude was reliable - a solid blocker, and a security blanket for Eli.

I'm fucking livid at Jerry Reese right now. You mean to tell me he couldn't re-work other contracts to keep some of these guys? In the NFL, $2mil is chump change. Eli has to be pissed. Loses his most reliable option in Steve Smith to a hated division rival.

This will be the third straight year NY misses the playoffs.

Mike Francesca nailed it - the Giants have major egg on their face. If they were serious about re-signing Smith, why fool around and let him field offers from other teams? Get it done!

With the holes this team has(o-line, TE & no stud LB), I'm looking at 8-8 or 9-7. They have to show me something before I get all giddy, like not choking away games.

I just got home and found out the Giants lost Steve Smith to the damn Eagles of all teams!!!!! We are in trouble. What's the game plan for them this year??? Honestly, what were they thinking about while the Eagles were signing every damn body!!

I don't get it.....

Jericho Cotchery signs with Pittsburgh. That tells me they are being careful

with Emanuel Sanders foot he injured in the Super Bowl and Limas Sweed

may be on the bubble nursing an injury. Can't make the club from the tub.

Why is Seattle and San Diego (LA)Chargers the national game?..

I really don't think it matters since the starters will only play a few snaps. This is pre-season so........

49ers looked like a different team this week.

Jets looked WAAAAAY better than I expected, but Sanchez is still not accurate enough to be an elite QB.

Too bad about Thomas.

Just listened to the Pryor interview with the MNF guys and he sounds like A) he's got his head on pretty straight, or B) he's got people coaching him to say the right things. Either way, it was a good move on his part as far as improving his image goes.

That's ok, long as he keeps turnovers to a minimum. Dude's been to back-to-back AFC title games. He could get to a third if Burress stays healthy. Once he develops chemistry with Plax and Mason, Jets could be scary.

He looked great with Plax, that's what surprised me most. And that should only get better over time. Other teams will have to gameplan for all their receivers so much that somebody will be wide open at some point during the game. Defenses won't be able to cover all of them every play.

However, we will never agree about Sanchez. The TEAM'S success is undeniable. But he will be a system QB, not an elite QB, until he gets more accurate.

Shows you what they think of their backup QB situation.

Jets-Giants postponed until Monday night at 7pm.
