Now im no angel.... ...lost count how many times ive been arrested in the past 25 years,but many times b4 being arrested was calmed down by a female police officer. ......This interaction with a female officer helped me so much at a very stressful time and prevented me from doing more harm.If 2 male police men had come 2 arrest me my mood and behaviour would have been so much worse!!!! ....Now 2day i saw a police woman about 5ft 7in tall blonde and her face made up like she was going nite clubbing..... ......and it got me thinking......My violent days r now behind me.....but i thought 2 myself look at her... ....all tarted up about 8stone in weight any violent thug could put her lights out in the blink of an eye.... ......How could she defend herself against a violent thug????1 punch and shes out the game!!!!Now im not being sexist..if women want 2 do that work then fine but when i see a police woman 8 stone looking like a barby doll its kind of hard 4 me 2 take her seriously???? ...Now talking, 2 calm a person down is cool and a gift but if that person wants 2 knock ur head off no matter what training uve had then u simply dont stand a chance!!!What do other orgers feel about Female Police Officers????Do u feel safer having them around????Or do u think there a bit of a joke????Should Women even b allowed 2 join the Police in the 1st place???

your post seems a bit simplistic, not to mention condescending. your own bias ("barby doll") likely has you underestimating the woman you refer to.

a woman properly trained and armed is a person to be reckoned with. i'm guessing you don't know whether the woman you refer to has been trained in the martial arts? or in weapons handling?

moreover, you assume that, because of a smaller size, this gal's intellectual contributions aren't enough to compensate for her lack of stature.

One of my best friends is a female police officer. I wouldn't fuck with her!

Also, my sister is just uner 5 feet tall and weighs about 7 stone.... It's definitely safe to say she can hold her own.

Im not against it i just think any bully/yob/thief/violent drunk/violent addict would take advantage if being seen 2 by A Female Officer thats all!!!!Ive always been treated realy nice by them in the past but the cold cold world we live in theres just something that doesnt seem right???

In an of itself....yah. I mean there's all kinds of cops. Ticket writing cops, desk working cops, those cops that hang out on the freeways while construction is underway, those cops that respond to calls re: child abuse or wife battery. There's no reason why women can't handle those kinds of jobs

Now if we're talking cops in the hood with gang members and during drug busts or dealing with crack heads and drunk drivers then I'd say nay. Not a fair fight.

I don't think gender's really the issue. To me it's just important that all police officers be well trained and physically fit. I'm not sure if that's always the case. To my mind it should be compulsory (or rather, the bar should be raised from wherever it is now). We're all different physically, male and female, and have different capabilities, and you can't rule out potential police officers on the grounds that they're not perfect physical He-Man-like specimens, but lawd I've seen some fat cops and it can't be right. They should be able to run, hard, for several blocks, handle themselves in physical confrontations, along with all the other necessary skills of course. I'd rather be policed by a fit woman than a fat man, but ultimately I'd rather all police officers were in good shape. Surely it should be a given, but apparently not.

Whomever demonstrates themselves capable can do the job, male or female. Same as in other professions.

I've seen loads of weedy policemen still wet behind the ears I think even I could beat up!

Seems like they're not, but I don't know. The only time I really remember seeing police with guns was in various important places in London, and at airports. I think all other British police officers carry standard issue pea-shooters and upon passing the relevant exam, a sling-shot. Truncheons were outlawed in the early 90s after it was discovered they could inflict physical pain.

There is not a female officer on the planet that could catch me on foot.

I don't think criminals respect women in uniform and that can lead to added resistance.

If the incredible hulk steps out of the car I'm not putting up a fight, but if a small woman does, I'm going to weigh my options. (Hypothetically speaking)
