My username is kind of a random homage to the 1970s. The afro is a 70's fashion cultural icon. fro, 1975 was the mid-point of the decade.

deadmansbones

I love Ryan Gosling.

I joined so I could pimp his band... Dead Man's Bones.

I really liked the vibe here. And I stayed for a while or when I could say a thing or two.

The...End.

I honestly didn't even think it would be read that way until someone else mentioned that a few years ago. I really should have thought of that.

my initials and the European pronouncation for 'the'. My first orgname was my initials, however, I forgot the password for that one. So, I added D.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Giselle

My grandmother calls me Giselle, because I remind her of her mother at times saying that she was a rebellious also with intelligence. ..which eventually grew on me. It's not my name. Names Ciara.

My 1st screen name was roodboi, I thought it had to be something prince related and rudeboy was taken...my 2nd was thejason, just felt like changing it after years of being roodboi...now I'm orger, I wanted to have a lil' anonymous fun for while and only a small few knew it was me...it was the most generic screen name I could think of, I couldn't believe it hadn't already been taken...
How is it you feel?

Cool. I like Quik a lot. I got into his music when I heard Rythmalism and then Balance and Options. He's a very underrated producer and probably better than Dr. Dre who relies too heavily on sampling imo.

"Lammastide" - The time of year around Lammas, which happens to be a favorite of mine.

...But with this whole global warming thing, Lammastide (Aug. 1) is quickly becoming less and less tolerable. whew As homages to pagan festivals go, I may have to shift to Mabon (Autumn Equinox) in my old age. smile

The Scandalous Sex Suite is my favorite slow jam and when I pledged I talked my line sisters into using Prince songs for our line names. So of course I had to be Scandalous, and I certainly was. Everyone on campus knew me as Scandalous and close friends still call me that. Then when I bought my first car I wanted vanity plates and had to condense Scandalous to six letters. I've had SCNDLS on my car since 1993.

Then when I bought another car last year, my Org peeps (Orger in particular tonk ) helped me come up with another Prince-related vanity plate.

Back in the day when I first went online (before GUI in fact), I used the moniker 'Hardbody.'

I was working out at the time and had finished second in my first contest.

Later my internet provider began merger mania and requiring new names.

I ended up with Suprman when I first joined, as I assumed Superman was taken (which it was of course.)

I was on here for about four years before I ever posted. I joined to lurk when the NPG site shut down, I checked out the Org. more and drop in from time to time. lol

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

My favorite Prince song...

Which way do I turn when I’m feeling lost?
If I sell my soul, now what will it cost?
Must I become naked? No image at all?
Shall I remain upright? Or get down and crawl?

I created the screen name Inspirational One because I work with children in foster care, through a mentoring program and in the school system. I always strive to be a good example and inspire others to be their best and it means a lot to me when I can be a part of change in anyone's life. So much so that I went to graduate school to become a Counselor. Now I want to start a teen girl's groups that focus on self esteem, empowerment, and more. I use Inspirational One on all boards that I visit and as my penname when writing.

Plus, my eighth grade teacher told me I was an inspiration to my peers and for him because of how I carried myself in dealing with others. That always stuck with me.
