Hell, that air conditioner at home ain't free. The more you use it, the more it costs. But I use the hell out of it though because I absolutely hate to be hot.

But try driving in a beat up hooptie and the air conditioner doesn't work. And at $900 to fix it, that damn thing ain't gonna get fixed either. And last week, my damn electric window on the passenger side won't roll down so it's really hot in that damn car. By the time I get to work, the whole back of my shirt is wet and even my drawers are wet and they sure as hell ain't wet with excitement, I can tell you that. lol And red lights are the worst because the car is sitting still and there's no air at all, just hot as hell heat. I'm sitting there just bitching the whole time the light is red and waiting for it to turn green. The other day, I blew my horn and stuck my head out the window and hollered at some bitch. She was sitting still when the light turned green talking on her damn cell phone. I blew and hollered...."Drive bitch!". lol

Cold winter weather makes my dick shrink. I HATE WINTER.

Summer makes me horny, happy, my dick is bigger, and I feel like having sex 24/7.

Especially when it´s hot AND humid.

(But that doesn´t mean that I hybernate in the winter season lol )

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

It's brutal in NYC today. I have been taking the bus to/from work for the past week because I can't bear to go down into the subway and bake on the platforms while I wait for a crowded train full of sweaty people. No thanks.

One tip about high a/c bills -- call your electric company and see if they have a "level payment plan" (I think that's what it's called). In NYC, ConEd will do this for you as long as you've been at the same address for at least 12 months. They essentially take the total amount of your electric bill from the previous year and average it, then charge you the same flat rate every month. So if you paid $1200 last year, they'll charge you $100/month. In the winter, you're usually running a bit of a credit (because your actual usage may only be $50) but then it equals out in the summer (when your actual usage might be $150). The still read your meter and make tiny adjustments, maybe $1 or $2 if you're getting off track.

I find this is much easier to deal with -- my bill is always the same no matter if I have the a/c cranked or it's winter. It definitely beats having your electric bill double or triple in the summer.

twocents

When I moved last year, I inquired about the level payment plan with Entergy (our electric company down here). They told me that they base it on the electricity used by the people in that area of town. They told me that the average electricity bill by people in my area of town is $130 a month and that's what mine would be if I got on that plan. I told them I would chance it and go for a little while without the plan just to see how much my monthly bills would be.

I'm glad I didn't go with the plan because my electricity bills in the spring and fall have not been higher than $35. Last summer, my bills ranged from $55 to $75, and in the winter the bills were from $70 to $100 (my apartment is all electric, no gas). I've never had a bill over $100 so far, thank God, so it benefits me to go without the plan. However, I'm single and live alone. Their plan being based on the bills of the other people of the area could be a lot of families of four so the plan could possibly benefit someone with a family that uses much more electricity.

That's weird -- why would they base it on the town usage? Clearly not everyone uses the same amount per household. It seems like they're being lazy and don't want to do it. But yeah, it doesn't sound like it would make sense for you. You could figure out your own "level payment" -- just look at your past 12 months bills and find the average and start sending that in. They can't stop you from overpaying, you'll just have a credit. You might have to start in the fall/winter though, when your actual bill would probably be less than the "average". When I moved, I did that for the first year (based on my previous residence) until ConEd would put me on the plan.

nod It was real hot today.. hotter than any day I remember. So we stayed in the AC, curtains drawn in a dark apartment. Its cool in here and comfy, the kids in the neighborhood are coming out now to play, but so are the virus tainted mosquitoes. So its an indoor day for us. lol We'll be at the movies tomorrow... Cars2 or Harry Potter.... its perfect movie weather.

I am not complaining one bit about this heat.

if ur not complaining about the heat, then what u got the a/c and the curtains drawn for then? u should be baking in the sun lol *wink*

The South Island is being covered in sanw as we speak. Its the first big snow in 3 years and it may even reach Wellington. In the summer here, very few people have air con, due to the cost. Most of us (But not me) have heat pumps, some which cool in the summer. Usually a fan suffices and of course opening the window. Temperatures seldom get above the high 20s here, so air con is not necessary.

The Scottish chap, would be right, most average summer highs in Scotland are like 15 -22 celsius on a warm day and as low as 12 on a cold one (My partners son and daughter are going to Aberdeen next month and are taking jackets and jerseys as most days its 14 degrees and raining. And this is August). Its only really America, Central Asia and the Tropics that have super hot summers

I think some of the Americans are complaining because in certain regions of America... its NOT supposed to get that hot at all. There is an unusual heat wave hitting the central northern part of the country right now where summers are usually warm and short lived.

This year my state was also hit with tornadoes... and Massachusetts NEVER gets tornadoes. Its goes to show you can never predict mother nature. wink
