Well... not really.

However, I went out for lunch today and there were two young women sitting there, seemingly from a distant Arabic country. Both were completely dressed in black and one had on something that seemed like a black burqa. I think it's called a hijab, covering all her body and hair, but not her face. Looking like this

The other one, tho´ also completely dressed in black, had on fairly sexy clothes and shoes, and only had on a headscarve that covered just her hair and not her face or neck. The way she was dressed, I could clearly see how pretty her face was and what an extremely tight body she had.

When I stepped into the lunchroom, she looked me straight in the eye and gave me a very flirtatious smile, saying something like, hey sexy, come here you... I gave her a little nod to say hi and smiled back at her while I walked to the counter next to them to order. There I could hear them talk in a language that appeared arabic to me. I looked from the corner of my eye and saw the pretty girl looking up at me. I ordered and took a place to sit right across from them. I picked up a paper to read and when I looked up the girl with the hijab was just staring at me...

When I stared back at her, immediately she looked away and said something to her pretty girlfriend. While they were giggling and trying to behave, I admit that I was charmed by the pretty girl with just the headscarve on and so I looked at her again. There was another exchance in eye contact, but then a bus or taxi arrived outside and they had to hurry to leave. On their way out, the pretty girl gave me that same flirtatious smile again, that she gave me when I walked in.

I have had plenty of encounters with Islamic wome before, and whether they were born and raised in Holland, or from some pretty conservative Islamic country, many of them have confirmed my personal impression again and again that quite a few aren't into any following any relgious or cultural rules at all. Rules that for example say you have to be in submission to your man, or your father or your brother all the time. Or that you always have to wear a scarve, or can`t dress sexy, or flirt, or fuck with a man who is an ´infedel´. Maybe I am wrong tho´ about this, I am sure no expert, but it does seem that way to me.

Oh yeah ... and since it´s about flirting with Islamic women, I was not sure either if this topic would fit better in GD or PR so since it is by all means also about flirting I just put it in GD!

Yes i mean they aren't usually seen as fair game as they are wearing the veil to show they are taken!!!

I think trying to date one of those girls is asking for trouble with all the rules...however there's nothing to stop you letting it fuel your fantasies

I don´t think being veiled, means the same as being taken perse, but I never dated a veiled woman. And I wasn´t planning on dating this one either! lol I have dated a few in the past tho´, without a head scarve and who were very liberal in their beliefs and opinions. They also told me that many Islamic women who do wear head scarves or more, aren´t really that religious at all, but usually follow those rules just to please their man or family.

Um, no. They are not wearing hijabs because they are "taken". It has nothing to do with whether they are in a marriage/relationship or not. Girls typically start wearing them when they hit the age of puberty.

I used to live in a city with a very high Muslim population. The Muslim girls in hijabs are just as modern and flirty and open as any other girl.

It's interesting to me so see people act like they are so different or forbidden or some shit.

A friend of mine wears a head scarf, though she's not really that religious. To her it has more to be with "belonging" to a culture, having something in common with "your" people. I can understand that.

(Side note: Ironically, I've always found burqas and head scarves a bit sexistic towards men, at least when the arguement is that it used to "not tempt men". Like men were just animals that'd go amok when seeing hair or skin.)

As a muslim girl I must say.. this is very normal. I don't wear a headcover but we're just like everyone else.

The real allure of the burqa (aside from religious dogma) is imagining the forbidden fruit that might lie underneath the garment.

Alexandria is the only islamic city I've visited. I flirted with some girls, I was ready & willing; they looked pleased, but nothing happened. I tried and tried, to no avail...

Ok yes, it may not mean they are 'taken' but it means that other men should not look aoart from the husband or the man she is betrothed to.

Agreed.

However I found the girl without the hijab a lot more attractive looking than the one without. And not just because she was so pretty, but also because the nijab does not exactly make a woman look more attractive.
