I hate ironing but I have to wear collared shirts at work, so I do it just about every morning. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I hate washing dishes. I hate having dry skin after I'm done.

Washing dishes. I'll gladly clean a toilet before I'll wash dishes. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Why not iron five shirts on Sunday evening? Then every morning of the work week should be a breeze. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I don't iron, I just don't do it.
I hate putting petrol in the car and returning library books

I hate grocery shopping, because while my wife occasionally will humor my adventurous side, we overwhelmingly buy the stuff she picks out.
I must concede, however, that I hardly can prepare a glass of water, so it's probably best that my wife take over in the kitchen/pantry. If it were up to me, I'm sure we'd be overflowing in pistachios, Perrier, beef jerky and a bunch of unpronounceable stuff I'd have no idea what to do with. [Edited 6/22/11 20:48pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

unless you cook, you (and other husbands I know of) come home with loads of stuff that you can't make a meal with

That's exactly what I meant. Everything looks so interesting in the store! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I've come to enjoy ironing. I find it almost meditative. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

My husband will open the fridge and say in a panic - we need to go shopping!!!! I'll take a look in the pantry and see there are at least 3-4 meals in here, no hurry!!!

oh, and they put all that stuff to be exactly eye-level with the average man - he is their compulsive shopper market. Reason for that is they don't look down or up for anything - research showed men won't make the extra effort to hunt around for it on higher or lower shelves like women are with their extra peripheral vision. So, basically you are being preyed upon

Yup. Being a bachelor, I've learned. Keep the staples on hand. I found pasta sauces in the jar work not only with pasta, but rice and potatoes. (I haven't tried a tomato based sauce with potatoes but I'm considering it.) I also keep the ingredients for my favorite dishes on hand. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Since I have a job, I only do my shopping on week-ends I hate going grocery shopping after 6:00am (or 7:00am during late fall and winter months). By my going grocery shopping at that time of the morning I don't have to rag-out about finding a parking place close to the store's entrance. The produce has not been prodded and picked up my many testing fingers and hands. There are very few other shoppers in the store so I don't have to wait in a long checkout line. Not to mention the traffic is much more travel friendly, since most others are still trying to get up. I find the same when I go clothes shopping. They open around 9:00am, so I've already taken my groceries home and put them up. By that the retail clothing stores are just opening. Then boom!...I'm in and out before lots of people show up. Also, I find mega-mark downs. “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

I don't iron that often. If it needs to be ironed-I believe that goes in the dry cleaners pile. But most of my shirts are of good quality and don't require ironing (they are not wrinkle free shirts). I find that a good dryer can take out the wrinkles for you.
I would say that ironing, dusting, and cleaning the oven are on my not fun task to do list.

Oh my god. I LOATHE ironing. I'm always moaning about it. I don't mind doing a small pile of t-shirts, but shirt's piss me right off.
Also I hate refilling the salt in the dishwasher. Last night I did it for the last time. I got so cross I refuse to ever do it again.

Fucking laundry. HATE HATE HATE it. And I don't mean actually washing and drying the clothes.....thats the easy part. It's putting away the shit. I swear I have atleast 2 baskets in every room of the house waiting to be put away and a basket of dirty laundry in each room as well. UGH I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure

I haven't ironed in five years. I just stand by the dryer and hang my clothes up as soon as they come out.

I hate to iron too that's why I bought a clothes steamer! It works great! The one household chore I truly loathe is dusting...YUCK!

I don't mind ironing. In fact, sometimes I enjoy it, very therapeutic.
What I hate is hand washing dishes and dusting. It's so much easier to run the dishwasher, but if you have only a few dishes, as I do, running the dishwasher is wasteful. Dusting entails moving shit out of the way; that's what I hate. Oh, another one is those damn venetian blinds or miniblinds. Washing those mofos is the pits! Oh, and washing windows is not something I enjoy either.
Now, here's one I bet no one has a problem with--refilling the damn ice trays. I HATE THAT SHIT!! I can't seem to get the tray back in the freezer without spilling half the fuckin water out the trays. I'm just a spaz, I guess. Next time I buy a "box," I'm gonna get one of those that makes ice.

That's why, if my mom sends my dad to the store, she gives him a carefully crafted list and says, "I don't care if you buy other things, too - but you must bring home everything on this list. No substitutions!

That is the worst thing, for me. I hate picking shit up. And if I'm doing a play, I can go for a couple weeks doing the following: Dress and pack up stuff for work. Go to work. Come home, drop work stuff and change into rehearsal clothes. Come home, drop rehearsal stuff and clothes, put on pajamas. Get up, drop pajamas, dress in different work clothes. Come home, drop work clothes and change into rehearsal clothes. Repeat for two weeks.
My place is cluttered as hell. And my bedroom looks like a bomb went off in my closet. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

To all the ones who hate washing dishes: Get a dishwasher?!
I do and don't mind doing nearly everything except ironing. I have ruined one of my mum's dresses as a small kid, when I wanted to surprise her and make her happy, and since then I'm afraid of doing it. I do the vacuum cleaning and cooking and all that, but ironing is something my woman has to do!
