Anywhere/way to buy a music download via UK site if you are a US resident?

Hey all,

I'm a fan of The Feeling and they just recently released a 2CD set in the UK. Sadly, I'm in the US and it seems I can't purchase and download a digital copy of this from Amazon.co.uk. I find this really silly because I *could* purchase the physical CD's and have them shipped but can't buy the mp3's (which would be vastly cheaper than the $35 import price Amazon.com wants to charge me).

Is there anywhere/way I can purchase digital downloads from the UK, as a US resident????

Thanks!

It took me all of 2 seconds to go to Amazon and find it available for purchase.

Now, because it's a UK import it costs like $30.

I get it.

No, you can't download it for the UK price. It doesn't work like that.

It's not available for purchase in the United States.

So, if you want it you're going to have to pay the import price for a physical cd.

Indeed, you could have saved 2 seconds and read that in my original post. wink

Ironically, I *CAN* order the CD from the UK Amazon site and pay the UK price, no questions asked. It's only the digital download that is restricted. That's hilarious to me.

However, I think I found a friend who is going to purchase and download it for me in the UK and then send it to me. So it's all good.

Together We Were Made?

Their website has links on it to buy from HMV, Play.com and iTunes. Have you tried them?

Whatever about HMV, I would think that either Play.com or iTunes would sell it to you without caring where you or your credit card are from.

You can only order the cd from the UK Amazon site and pay the UK price IF you're shipping it in the UK and paying in POUNDS.

If you try to pay in US dollars and/or ship to the US you'll be right back to paying the import price.

Really? I bought some DVDs from the U.K. site recently, paid in pounds and had them shipped (£2 each) to my U.S. address no problem. Maybe it's because they were not available on the U.S. site.

Exactly.

It depends on whether it's available for purchase in the US.

Your statement is not quite clear. I order books, DVD's and CD's from Amazon.co.uk and have the items shipped from the UK to the US all the time and have for a number of years. It is irrelevent whether those particular items are available from the US site or not. I pay the standard UK price and whatever the estimated shipping is from the UK (which is really not bad considering). It doesn't kick me back to the US site in any way.

The only time this does not hold true is with music downloads.
