What initially attracted me to Facebook was that it was SUPPOSED to be a more "mature" network. I tried Myspace and couldn't get past the glitter & glammed-up pages that took forever to load on my old-ass PC...ESPECIALLY the ones with music that was forced upon you!
Now FB is turning into Myspace with the juveniles taking over. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

Big agreement with you there, Myspace was so cluttered and glitchy. Plus back when it was big I had dial up slowest website ever, never really got into it.

The phrase that's spreading like wildfire around the tech community today?
"Google+ just turned facebook into myspace"
Also, Zuckerberg just joined G+ lol.... he does NOT look happy in his profile pic! |

Reason being, I have a cousin that works at Google
So I bugged him for access the moment they announced it, and I got it.
Let me tell you... it's fucking epic. You can't realize how good it is until you use it. I have the app installed on my phone already too. It just works so fluidly and is so intuitive.
I wrote a few first impressions here - http://s-endz.tumblr.com (third post down)
Anyway, I think if any service can kill Facebook, it's this
First impressions across the board are very, very positive.
@your cousin...

Because it's very, very good. Particularly the integration with Android... I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S2 today to upgrade my G2, so yeah |

Thing is, it's a little too early to tell. Especially when they haven't even moved it out of the testing mode yet.
Let them open it to the general public, and wait a few months, then I think we'll be able to say for sure what's what.

Annoying, ain't it?
I terminated my FB account 3 months ago because of the influx of tweens, and I haven't given much thought to the site since that day. [Edited 6/30/11 16:08pm] |

...Nope.
When you try to delete your Facebook permanently, there's a two week gap there where it isn't really closed. If you log in during that time, either intentionally or not, they pretty much reinstate your account and you have to start all over.
It's like joining a gang - they make it REAL hard for you to leave. [Edited 7/1/11 0:07am] "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day |

Wow that's nuts. I think MySpace did the same thing now that I think about it. Luckily when I deleted my Twitter account, it was gone as soon as I hit deactivate. |

Nah, I think you got MySpace confused with something else, because I deleted a few accounts there and I don't remember any waiting period. I'd always start an account, close it for whatever reason, then end up missing being on there so I'd join right back...wash, rinse, repeat.... Yeah, no waiting period with MySpace. A couple of "Are You Sure?"'s, but that's it. "There's Nothing That The Proper Attitude Won't Render Funkable!"

Speaking of myspace - did you hear that Justin Timberlake is one of the investors that just bought out myspace? I saw on the news that he'll actually have an office there!
Sorry if this is
On topic...I've always been relatively satisfied with the whole family of google products. I'll give google + a go, but I have to say I'm tiring of the whole social networking thing.

Not even stanning, but between seeing a LOT of messages like this on my G+ stream, and hearing the same thing from people I talk to in real life:
and seeing a lot of news articles like this, too:
then the future is looking VERY positive for G+
Also, Zuckerberg is clearly worried. He put out a news announcement just now saying that Facebook will be "revealing something awesome next week".

I've said it once, I'll say it again. Justin Timberlake is a stupid motherfucker.
Why the hell would you buy a site that is clearly DEAD now? I'm no business expert but even I know that's fucking dumb. And then he spent millions on it too - MILLIONS.
I think he might be a bit speshul. And not 'special', in a good way, either. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day |

Opera is better actually. But Firefox still is a main competitor. Chrome? I think I've gave up trying to be on its side. Even Gaga can't get me to be fully with it so I can't be on the edge of that type of glory.
Of course everyone has their systems setup differently, and we all have our favorites. But as of May 2011, average browser usage on the web places Opera at the lowest; 2.8%. Safari: 6.9%, Chrome: 16.2%, Firefox: 27.1%. And for some strange reason (probably because it's ships as a part of the Windows operating system) Internet Explorer clocks in at an average usage of 41.7%. I would almost go as far as to guess that probably half of that 40-something percent of IE users probably don't even know there are other browsers out there.
More interesting browser statistics:
Usage share of web browsers
And for a more detailed comparison of the browsers themselves:
Comparison of web browsers

[Edited 6/29/11 13:40pm]
I hate when I get an email with a link, and it uses IE. I've become monogamistic with Chrome, and it's great. |
