When I first saw this poster I thought it was really cool, and it is if you view it completely out of context.

A lot of people who read the books are really pissed about this poster, though. I haven't read the series yet - I just started the first book the other day - but after reading a synopsis of the story and about the history of the Lisabeth Salander character, I kinda understand people's annoyance; it really isn't true to the character and is borderline offensive when you take the actual events in the book into account.

I took it that he was protecting her and, when you consider what she went through, she would be naked (lieteraly) and vulnerable

According to what I've read, the Salander character is like the last woman on the planet that would ever need or want a man to protect her; it's like turning Xena Warrior Princess into a damsel in distress on a poster; it makes no sense and goes completely against the character.

That aside, I'd have loved to have seen Natalie Portman play Lisabeth. I might be the only one who thinks this, but I bet she would've kicked ass in the part.

I watched all 3 on Netflix biggrin I liked...

I just finished reading the trilogy last week so it was still easy to recognize what they left out, and what they changed -- but it was still good, IMHO

I see in IMDb that there was a mini tv series, too (same actors).. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1634549

hmmmm

The movies originally aired as a mini series on TV in Sweden I think. Some parts of the TV series were cut out when condensed down to movie length.

The originals are pretty good. What is the point of the remakes?

They don't count because they're not American and they're not in English, which is the only language God likes.

I tried to watched the dubbed English, but it was not as good, IMO, but the subtitles were good enough for me.

So I don't really feel the need for a remake either, but I am not surprised they're doing them. It's the closest Hollywood can come to an original idea at this point!

They are remaking a non-American movie at least! That is about as original as it gets in the days of Arthur remakes and sequel after sequel

Dubbed movies are NEVER as good. I find them near impossible to watch. I can read subtitles quite well, thank you.

I never watch dubbed movies if I can help it, but for some reason I tried it with this one.

Either I was feeling lazy, or perhaps I was not paying full attention and wanted to listen while I chopped onions

lol I watched them so long ago now. When the 3rd movie hit DVD in Swedish stores there were torrents available the very next day but only one of them with English subtitles. The person who uploaded it must have just run the English subtitle file through an online translator because the English didn't make a lick of sense and I was laughing all the way through it boxed
