Writers block/character motivation Help I write stories and scripts as a hobby and, being halfway through a current project, I've found it's not going in the direction I originally intended as little inspirational moments have modified the story. I need to find a plausible reason why, in a group of 3 friends brought up with a bond closer than brothers,1 would betray the other 2 knowing it would lead to their deaths. Ive tried several motivations - Money seems to weak, as does the love of a woman, it cant be 'no choice' because I don't want this character to be forgiven I've tried all sorts of mythical/biblical examples like Judas, Cane & Abel. Any suggestions? Thanks | |

Yeah, money & women don't seem strong enough for that kind of thing, to me it would have to be a self preservation decision--something like abandoning your friends at the scene of the crime in order to save yourself. My Legacy

Ta - I hadn't realised that the answer was already there - a bit of the backstory sees a very short period where he went away that, hopefully, nobody will give a second thought about until the end...like anybody's going to read it anyway | |

Is this a principal character? If so...you realize that you're going against the grain with just about every other storyline out there. Usually when faced with such a situation, the character will surrender his/her own life to save the others. In spite of how absurd it may be.PurpleJedi said:

I had it all planned out and, as pompous as it sounds, the character ended up doing something I hadn't originally planned when I set out...and it threw up this whole interesting possibility about who he really is or where he's from. By having him disappear for a short while it's carte blanche. | |

bla bla bla... victims daughter is hot... one of them falls 4 her....
he wants 2 own up, as he was not the driver, they start to argue.........
