Does the color of your fingernail polish ALWAYS have to match the color of the toe polish...

Eye remember when my son painted my toe nails bright pink!!!!Few days later eye went 2 local swimming pool 4 a swim 4got he had done it???That was an interesting trip 2 the pool eye can tellya!!,O the poll,if eye was with a woman & her feet didnt match her hands eye would think it looked very wrong!!!What do eye no im a man right!!!

In general, I'd say yes unless one is painted and the other is bare. (I don't wear polish on my fingernails but usually paint my toesies if they are going to be seen.)

But I'm sure there are exceptions. If you think it looks OK, it probably does.

I dont know if Id say it looks ok in general, unless a person has a french tip on the fingers and a color on the toes...

I just had them done late last week and love the color but I wanted the UV top coat for the nails cuz its so SHINYYYY! But it has cracked because the color must not of been dry enough, and Im to cheap to pay to have my toes redone cuz they still look good!! Guess I will just have to go with the same color again on the fingers...

I stopped painting my fingernails some years ago and started to paint my toenails around the same time I think, so I don't have both painted a lot at the same time. Anyway, both have to match my outfit, that's all I care about . So let's say my outfit would be brown and green then my toenails could be green and my fingernails brown. Even though I don't recall I ever had green toenails .

I dont think I ever worried about if my color matched my outfit... But then I usually stay with colors that compliment any outfits... Im so NOT a colorful person! I like reds, pinks, mauves, and i may, just MAY go with a brown in the fall

Normally, mine do. Since I've been working outside so much lately, I haven't bothered painting my fingernails. My toenails are freshly painted though since it's sandal season. I have gotten more colorful this year. Right now, mine are painted a light pink color.

I never match. My toes get painted more often than my fingernails and I always stick to really bright and more vivid colors than the colors of the clothes in my wardrobe anyway.

No - they don't have to match.

My preference is to do bright colors on toes and conservative/neutral colors on fingers. Normally I leave my fingers natural without polish, though.

For me, yes.

I don't paint my fingernails often but when I do they rarely match my toenails. I typically like a good french pedicure so I guess that could go with any color fingernails.

I agree with this. Once it's sandal time, my toenails are always painted, usually a brighter color. I rarely paint my fingernails because the polish just chips too quickly and with dark/bright colors it's much more noticeable. When I do, though, (like for an interview) I usually do a French manicure or just the pink/nude color from the French manicure.

No man is gonna think that if you can't match your fingernails and toenails that you have some fatal flaw. Be flattered if he even notices.

My fingers and toes always match unless I'm doing a play that requires that my fingernails be neutral. My toes are painted with color year-round.

Can't stand matchy matchy anything. It's like matching your shoes with your purse....which is not very fresh or modern looking. It's dated.

I'm wearing a very light sheer pink on my fingernails and a dark bright pink on my toenails at the moment.

I'll tell you one thing I just can't get into though....any blue, or green or yellow polishes. Same with french tips. I find it a tacky look.
