Ladies: leg shaving question Those who shave their legs, just wondering what's the most effective method and which do u prefer to use. I shave my legs using those BIC razors with the Skintimate shaving cream, however, after about two days the hair starts to grow back. I've used Nair before but the smell of it kind if scared me. Lol. Just interested in some other ideas. Have any if you gotten it waxed at a spa or something? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I have to admit that I shave my legs with cheap disposable razors. I have never tried Nair or had them waxed. But luckily I have fine blonde hair so shaving is not a big production.
I'd like to try waxiing someday though.

I had my legs waxed one time. Once was enough. But then again, I have sensitive skin. I've also tried Nair and hated the funk. It also made me stop and think about what was going on my body. So now, I just shave my legs (with a Venus Sensitive Skin Razor) whenever I wear a dress or something. Other than that, I'll be a straight up hairball.

Nair smells putrid, and I have to leave it on for 7 minutes in order for it to have any effect. Plus I still have to shave to get the spots that it missed.
I now use Skintimate and Venus razors, and if I shave going up my legs (as opposed to down) the hair won't grow back for a week or so. time flies.

As a man who has been shaving since he was 13, I have tried many things. What has worked best for me is peanut butter. It gives me a close shave, especially during those humid months and it leaves my skin soft and smooth. Maybe it would work for the legs as well.

Well, duh! Even if you cut it, hair does keep growing, you know.
Consider yourself lucky. I'm stubbly after 1 day. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Of course I know that, but the point is to shave so that the hair doesn't start to grow back at least 3 or 4 days into the week. My goodness. I don't expect to have to shave my legs everyday. But as you said, I guess my little 2 days is lucky compared to you. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Where on earth did you get the idea to use peanut butter? Not saying it is a bad idea, BTW, I might just try it...but all I have is crunchy at the moment My Legacy

i normally use the gillette women's razors with men's shaving cream and it lasts for about 3 days. the stuff they make for women is too rough on my skin. men's stuff is gentler - i'm assuming because it's meant for their faces and makes them softer. My kitty wants to play...

My point is that you don't have any control over the rate at which your hair grows. Some women might not have enough hair to shave for three or four days, other women will have enough at one day. Sounds like you have enough at two. That ain't gonna change.
It isn't as if you can make your leg hair say, "Hey, she shaved! I guess we oughta chill for a couple days, then start growing again." We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

You don't have to go into detail on this point specifically. My original question was just asking what other methods people used and which they felt was more effective. Thanks for your opinion. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Okay. Good luck with your attempt to change the unchangeable! We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

i hate the smell of cream hair removers 2, and they r not that effective, hair grows back faster than any other method

Oh wow, thanks for the input. Yeah those cream hair removers are scary to me. Feels like its going to burn through my skin down to my bone or something. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

they r un-natural chemicals and they r toxic
i luv how newly waxed everything feels.... and it lasts the longest... my underarms and hardly grow anymore....
and it only takes a few visits to get used to the tiny bit of pain... (except if u r am male ))
i hate cutting myself shaving... i bleed, it stings and i hate the shaving rash i sometimes get

I have sensitive skin too, and I tried Nair once - and ONLY once, because it literally ate holes in my skin. "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

It's been a long time since I tried Nair - I've heard that the smell isn't so bad anymore.
I've also waxed in the past. Ouch...but oh so smooth and it lasts a long time.
I normally share with just a disposable razor and shaving cream.
I started doing laser hair removal, which is also pretty damn painful, but I'm hoping that at the end of my treatment I won't have to shave at all!

I've never known shaving to last more than a day. Don't men usually shave their faces every day because of this? Same concept.
Unfortunately, shaving is extremely short-term. The reason most of us do it anyway is that waxing is messy, painful and expensive; depilatories are messy and smelly; and longer-term solutions such as electrolysis and laser are prohibitively expensive for most of us.

Thank you!
Can you imagine a guy asking, "How can I shave so I don't have to do it again for three or four days?" Everyone would answer, "Ummm...grow a beard?" We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
