^^why did I click that? why!

anyway. I'm with most of you laidies on the Nair thing, terrible chemicals and it doesn't even work that great. don't bother. I've tried smooth away, it works but...it takes a while. meaning shaving is faster.

I think any form of hair removal that just removes it from the surface on up is not going to effect your shaving frequency. The only thing that will prolong that is a method that rips the hair out from under the skin.

I'm kinda lucky, for a brunette, I have very fine hair on my legs and not a lot of it. One trick I have learned is to use conditioner as my shave lubricant. I went to some dirty toy party one time and they sell this stuff called "coochie" or something like that, as a shave lotion for your well...coochie. so I bought some....it's great but..it's just hair conditioner. So once that was gone I just started using conditioner to shave everything and it works great. The only thing I can't use is cheap disposable razors...I don't know why but I get cut with those every time, if I buy a 4 or 5 blade or one of those where you buy the handle and just replace the head, I'm all good. I only have to shave (my legs) like once a week.

"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

It's been a long time since I tried Nair - I've heard that the smell isn't so bad anymore.

I've also waxed in the past. Ouch...but oh so smooth and it lasts a long time.

I normally share with just a disposable razor and shaving cream.

I started doing laser hair removal, which is also pretty damn painful,

but I'm hoping that at the end of my treatment I won't have to shave

at all!

Laser works! My legs are hair-free. No more razors for me!

I just finished my 4th treatment and am still waiting to a significant reduction in the amount of shaving I have to do. They tell me I should notice it this time or next time.

How many treatments did you go through to get to be hair free?

I've started noticing that while my brown hairs are starting to decrease, I have a bunch

of blond hairs, which they say will not go away with the laser. SUX!

You will never be completely hair free with the laser.

There are the blond hairs (which you've noticed) that the laser doesn't work on. There are the various cycles hair grows on - which mean you have to keep going back for "maintenance."

I had my bikini line lasered years ago. Most of the hair stayed gone, but there are still quite a few "stragglers" that I have to shave, wax or pluck. I'm just not putting any more $$$ into the laser treatments. shrug

I've never known shaving to last more than a day. Don't men usually shave their faces every day because of this? Same concept.

Unfortunately, shaving is extremely short-term. The reason most of us do it anyway is that waxing is messy, painful and expensive; depilatories are messy and smelly; and longer-term solutions such as electrolysis and laser are prohibitively expensive for most of us.

Thank you! lol

Can you imagine a guy asking, "How can I shave so I don't have to do it again for three or four days?" Everyone would answer, "Ummm...grow a beard?" wacky

The OP was asking what other methods people use to keep the hair from growing back so quickly not asking how she can prolong the hair growth from just shaving. That's why she mentioned Nair and waxing. I've never tried waxing and the Nair just stinks! I have to shave every two to three days as well and use a men's disposable razor and shaving creme. They seem to work better than the ones they have for us women. Good luck!

Six or seven, spaced six weeks apart (to catch as many different hair cycles as possible). It cost me about $700.

And I haven't even worn a swimsuit in three or four years. neutral

Ummmm...this is the opening sentence in the thread...

Those who shave their legs, just wondering what's the most effective method and which do u prefer to use.

The OP also replied at me...

No, it doesn't. Like I said, before it goes on smooth and gives you a good close shave, especially in the summer when it is hot and humid.

I soak my legs in warm (hot but not scalding) water. Then I scrub them with an exfoliater. Next I lather them up with a shave gel. And then I shave with the Venus Embrace which has 5 blades. After I'm done shaving I pat my legs dry and put a lotion on them. I like to use a lotion specifically for hair removal. It prevents bumps, this especially works for your pussy

I've done leg waxing but you can not shave in between and I can't stand the stubble in between waxing. And I felt like a plucked chicken every time I got it done.

I've done the Nair/Veet thing but it's hard to get an all over smooth on the legs but I've had better results on other body parts.

It really depends on what type of hair you have on your legs...peach fuzz or coarse hair. Peach fuzz basically causes no problems with shaving...coarse hair, on the other hand, is a nightmare to shave. Ask dudes who shave their body hair for professional swimming or just because they are "metrosexuals." razz lol

I had my legs waxed one time. Once was enough. eek But then again, I have sensitive skin. I've also tried Nair and hated the funk. It also made me stop and think about what was going on my body. So now, I just shave my legs (with a Venus Sensitive Skin Razor) whenever I wear a dress or something. Other than that, I'll be a straight up hairball.

I have sensitive skin too, and I tried Nair once - and ONLY once, because it literally ate holes in my skin. neutral

eek THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO ME! I had scabs all over the parts I used. People kept staring at me the entire time, because I looked so...odd. I vowed never to do it again.

ok, normally what I do is shave using a Venus razor(best razor by far) and Satin Care or Skintimate shaving cream. Then I put on some hair minimizing cream. It usually keeps the hair regrowth finer and at bay for about 3 days with me, unless it's hot as hell outside. Then the hair will grow back quick!

In my competitive swimming days, I sugared my legs. I made my own sugar based "wax" and removed the hair myself. That lasted for 3 weeks and was pretty smooth. Nowadays I just don't have the time for it tho. And you usually have to wait till the hair is long enough to remove it again. Only thing I wax now is the bikini area. I ain't bringin' a razor there! lol

So I stick to shaving and hair minimizing cream.

Maybe that's what's going on with me too because I could've sworn in the winter I could 5 days without a stubble to even appear on my legs. Now it's 2 days. So thanks for bringing that up.

See I don't use the hand razors to shave pussy...I use an electric shaver that I ordered from Japan. It works like a charm, I love it. Been using it for years now.
