Rebecca Black's infamous "Friday" video pulled from YouTube

Battle launched over who will profit from image of 'world's worst singer', teenager Rebecca Black

The lyrics 'It’s Friday, Friday, Gotta get down on Friday' irritated millions and she was widely branded the world's worst singer.

But teen Rebecca Black defied her critics and became a global YouTube sensation when her much-mocked music video was watched over 100 million times on the website.

Despite her enormous success, including a cameo in Katy Perry's latest video and tribute on Glee (not to mention Simon Cowell saying he 'loved her') Rebecca has abruptly pulled the music video from YouTube.

It has been taken down amid legal action against Ark Music Factory by Black's lawyers, who complain that the company is exploiting the 13-year-old's image.

Earlier this week Ark attempted to charge a $2.99 'video rental' fee for users to watch the video, despite not owning the rights to the infamous music video.

Rebecca angrily addressed the matter on Twitter: She wrote: 'Thanks for all the messages regarding the $2.99 fee added to Friday video, I have NOTHING to do with this!!'

'PS...My Manager and Lawyer are on this and are going to get to the bottom of this! Stay tuned...'

Rebecca has seen her star soar since becoming an internet sensation, making several red carpet appearances and was even invited as a guest on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Hit show Glee paid tribute to her song, and Rebecca made a cameo appearance in Katy Perry's latest video, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F).

Perry had previously mocked Rebecca onstage at a concert in Melbourne, but all appears forgiven and Rebecca gives Katy's alter-ego Kathy Beth Terry a makeover in the video.

There has been some crappy music before, specially since 1986, but nothing as bad as the late-00's/2011...
