Party Monster (the 1997 shockumentary of Michael Alig and the Club Kids) - Warning: NSFW

http://www.youtube.com/wa...h9PpLT2UbA

Watched this last night, I'm a fan of the Macaulay Culkin-starred bio of the same name and this is even better.

Still fucked up what Michael did but god damn this footage made me wish I WAS part of the scene - minus the drugs (but maybe the alcohol, just maybe).

----

BTW, I'm only linking it because of nudity and graphic violent scenes so this is a NSFW post.

What Lady Gaga thing? Or is that a Marilyn Manson thing in the mid 90's (prothetics, outrageous costumes that border on fantasy movie style make-up effects, a mission to shock and provocate with that style)?

When i first moved to NYC, Angel was the first person to invite me to his apartment. We hung out for about an hour while he prepared his wares for the club later on that night. After wards he took me out to dinner and we both had steak. He was really nice and genuine. He was killed about a week or 2 later. I was really upset over it for awhile.

yeah especially because to me within this documentary Allig didn't really seem that sorry about what he had done and neither did his friends, with the exception of james st james. all the others friend didn't really take it serious.

The whole movie was great except for the part about the rat in the hole in the wall which was stupid.

I love this movie...and I love the book. I don't agree with what Michael did, but I remember following the Club Kids when I was younger.

I even wrote Michael in prison and he sent back some art work he did. That was many moons ago.

I rember all those guys. Didn't hang with Alig personally but used to be at the Limelight pretty much weekly during college. I was also a Miss Kitty cigarette girl (as in "Cigars! Cigarettes! sexy ) there and at the Roxy and Palladium. lol

Beyond bringing back some crazy memories I was not a fan of the movie though. boxed

I'm forever jealous at you for being a part of that scene. hug Now I wish time machines were real because I would definitely take myself to New York circa 1991. lol

It was surreal. I can only liken it to an Alice In Wonderland kind of feel, so much creativity! Drugs are kind of double edged...I mean I don't think some of the folk might have been quite as OUT there (in a good way) without them, but obviously they take their toll. sigh

You just felt like your shit didn't stink to have Kenny Kenny call you out of line to let you in at the door. lol Ridiculous and yet Fab.

Does this scene still exist at all in NYC or other cities? I'm so ignorant of this stuff.

lol Yeah, knowing that situation, I'd probably just be on mushrooms or some LSD drug, I'd leave the coke, ketamine and heroin alone though. confused But then again it'll be like picking a lesser of two evils. lol And I can be pretty quirky and bizarre WITHOUT drugs if you take me to a party. evillol

Wow. This sounds like a crazy question, but how did you feel receiving artwork that came from the hands of someone who actually murdered and removed the limbs from somebody's torso? Did it freak you out? I'm not that brave of a soul, and would feel creeped out by coming that close to that kind of dark energy. boxed

Yeah, I've looked him up on the internet before in the past because I was going to make him one of my avatars. He looked OK but he didn't look as good as he did when he played Angel in the movie. In the movie, his face looks more butch than his real life pictures.

It kinda reminds me of Studio 54 but 50 times more outrageous. I live for the wild and outrageous but those club kids looked too outrageous for my tastes. Some of them didn't even look human. lol
