I , for one, can NOT.

I am too distracted. Don't stick to my timeline. ALWAYS MEET MY DEADLINE, but just barely. I need a lil more disipline.

have you ever worked from home?

with my personality i need to be kept on a leash.

totally unrelated but there is entirely too much pron in the world right now. cool

I mostly work from home. I'm doing it right this very moment--so I guess that shows you how well that's going today. biggrin

I'm pretty good with it, for the most part, but I do need to work some on my self-discipline.

I can work from home, but only when my wife and kid are nowhere around. They've got to be the two noisiest humans I've ever met.

I've done it from time to time. But with the majority of these jobs, the deadlines were very long. Or, when they were insanely short, it helped me to concentrate and work quickly. In any case, it was for some pocket change and experience. I really want to be a photographer.

lol Won't pay the bills (not as quickly, anyway, according to my family...) but it's that "career" I've been dreaming of after my writing.

I've had my own business since 1997 working from home here and there. Last year for the first time since 2000 all kids are in school leaving me 6 hours uninterrupted 5 days a week cloud9

Not with front line work....I wish I had my own business and could work from home though. I'm too introverted and keep to myself, so it's perfect.

I do often, have for years..

but I'm a web developer, and I do a lot of social media stuff as well, so I'm always online (facebook, twitter, etc.)

at the office, I usually have music or news on (headphones), co-workers I chat with, etc... at home it's music or tv

I'm pretty good with multi-tasking.. I don't have a problem meeting deadlines

I prefer to work from home, it's less stressful

- in that case, I only have to deal with idiots via email/phone instead of them popping up at my desk.. lol wink

Well, yes and no.

I've been able to do it, but for more prolonged periods of time it has caused me problems with my health and restricted my social life. Just being able to walk to your work place and having conversations with your co-workers can introduce some diversity to your days.

I could, but it would have to be for only part of the day; I get bored easily.

No. The police came in and ran all my customers out and shut me down. Then the neighbors ran me out of town on a rail. lol

I'm a loner by nature, so I would LOVE to work from home. I could work at my own pace, and I would never miss a deadline. However, the nature of my job does not allow me to work from home since I have to put in a lot of "face time."

It's my dream. But it's not the best option for me, right now.

No. Not unless I have someone standing behind me, cracking the whip. (in the non-pervy sense).

I've been working at home now for some time. Of course I have to go out to shoot footage, but I spend hours in my work area (with cable tv playing to soften the isolation).

This short corporate comedic video took me about 40-50 hours spread out over two weeks in my upstairs loft area of the house at the computer:

I admit, that I do miss being in a studio space with other creative people to compliment or make fun of whatever I'm doing. It can be a fun, competitive environment.

Music making for professional projects has always been isolated and at home for me. I don't think I could do that as well with others around.
