Hardly. Against my better judgment, I decided to scan my undergrad student ID card. This photo was taken in August 1996, when I was 18:



Note the need for a shave, the almost-unibrow, and the bad hair. (In all fairness, when the photo was taken, I was overdue for a hair-straightening appointment.) Too bad the colors aren't very clear--I know my hair was dyed some shade of red at the time.

I really didn't want this picture taken, but the university was switching to a new ID card system, and the card issued to me the year before would no longer work as my meal card in the dorms. Since I didn't want to starve, I reluctantly got a new ID.

Yes--I graduated from high school at 17, and then I graduated from college at 20. In hindsight, I think I regret both of these decisions. At the time, I wanted to fast-track my way into adulthood and the "real world," but I wish I had spent more time just, well, being young.
