Serena returns to the tennis court and the red carpet and tweets racy pic of herself Serena Williams is back on the tennis court for the first time since a health scare sidelined her two months ago. And, in typical Serena fashion, she did so in style:
What, you expected the woman who once wore this to a US Open to practice in a tennis skirt and sweater vest? If Serena is coming back, it's going to be with some gusto. The 13-time Grand Slam champion had been hinting at a return to the court for the past few days on her Twitter account. Cryptic messages like "my life starts today" and "back on the shakes" foreshadowed Tuesday's practice session, which was announced in the third-person and later confirmed by her agent. The outfit, however, was a complete surprise. It's not like Serena had given any warnings that she had recently watched Molly Ringwald in "Pretty In Pink" or was reading "Catwoman" comic books. There's no word as of yet on when Serena will return to competitive play. It'll come in time. For now, just seeing her on the court with a racquet in her hand is good news enough. Serena has a well toned body and curves that leave many envious... she can rock any catsuit with ease... but the shade of Pepto pink makes me worry that sweat stains may show.
Unless its a special breathable fabric ... which I an sure it is. Well, at least it wasn't neon green.
I like the catsuit... hate the color. Love that she wore it... but hate that its all people will talk about.
I'm all over the place on this one.

She could have showed up in a potato sack and I'd have been happy. I'm just glad to see her, back on the court. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Injured Clijsters likely to miss French OpenBRUSSELS - Another foot fault has deprived women's tennis of one of its best players — again. Kim Clijsters cracked her ankle at a wedding party last weekend, likely forcing the U.S. and Australian Open winner out of Roland Garros. Her mishap brings back memories of the accident that sidelined Serena Williams immediately after her Wimbledon victory last year. She stepped on broken glass at a restaurant. Williams' misery was compounded by a series of health concerns and she has not played since. When the French Open starts on May 22, tennis might well have to do without the winners of the last three Grand Slam tournaments. On Saturday, Clijsters was wearing high heels when she stepped on someone's foot at the wedding of her cousin Tim. In tennis shoes, it might have been bad but the heels compounded the freak accident. The complicated injury — ligaments were stretched on top of a torn ankle joint capsule and tendon sheath — will force her to keep her right ankle immobilized for several days and will leave her on crutches. "Kim faces a recovery of at least four to six weeks," a statement on her website announced. "Since the French Open starts in literally six weeks, Kim's presence in Paris is very uncertain." Even in the best of circumstances, she would have to come in cold on her least favourite surface — slow, red clay. On top of the ankle injury, Clijsters had already said she would take a month off to deal with shoulder and wrist problems sustained during the wear and tear of a hectic spring schedule. She has been ruled out of the Fed Cup semifinal against the Czech Republic this weekend, which Belgium was favoured to win until she withdrew. The 27-year-old Clijsters has returned after taking a 2 1/2-year break from tennis to start a family. She still wants to shine at the Olympics in London next year before retiring for good. A succession of injuries was Clijsters' worst fear when she came back on the tour, with multiple injuries often slowing her since she rose to prominence. As much as Belgium will miss Clijsters during the Fed Cup, so will the U.S. team miss Serena Williams when it faces Germany in a World Group playoff. The 13-time major champion needed two operations for the foot injury sustained at the restaurant last summer. And she was diagnosed in February with a blood clot in her lungs, then needed treatment for a hematoma.

she has a long road back, to get into tournament shape, but I'm glad she's taking the first step. I remember when she first turned pro, how they compared her to venus...I think she surpassed venus a long time ago. [Edited 4/13/11 18:33pm]

Serena is getting around this week. She's all "Fuck what you heard! I'm foine bitches!"
Curvy tennis star Serena Williams gets her beach wiggle on... but her tiny bikini is barely fit for purpose Serena Williams looks in great spirits as she confidently shimmies down the beach in a mis-matched bikini. The Wimbledon tennis champion put on a little dance as she relaxed with friends in Miami today. But the 29-year-old came close to a double fault - her strapless bikini top clearly struggled to contain her ample bosom. Williams has been recuperating in Miami following emergency surgery two months ago. She is recovering from an operation to remove a blood clot 'the size of a grapefruit' found in her lung in February.

Serena Williams was looking good Tuesday night in New YorkA few days ago, pictures of Serena Williams in a bikini hit the Internet and evoked the predictable responses from people who said she looked out of shape and unprepared to return to tennis. First of all: Like you look so good in a bathing suit all the time? (And in April, no less? This is warm-up bathing suit season. Get back to me in July.) Second of all: Here's Serena on Tuesday night at a promotional event in New York:
If that's out of shape, I shudder to think how I'd be classified. Serena was at an event for Range Rover and posed with various celebrities, including New York's favorite cornerback, Darrelle Revis:

Bjork has nothing on Serena WilliamsAs Serena Williams demonstrated earlier this week at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala benefit, attendees of the royal wedding don't have an exclusive monopoly on ridiculous-looking hats. The tennis star attended the benefit honoring late designer Alexander McQueen in a get-up that wouldn't have been out of place at Westminster Abbey on Friday: It's like she went hunting for albino Snuffleupagus.

She actually does not look so muscular in that pic (esp her arms), but I know she is not pumped up she is relaxed.
But tennis players have huge cores. Lots of twisting My Legacy

Alleged stalker Patenema Ouedraogo (above) pretended to be Serena Williams' assistant when she was at the Home Shopping Network.
Palm Beach County Jail
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (AP) - A man was charged with stalking tennis star Serena Williams after police say they caught him trying to walk into her gated subdivision in South Florida.
Palm Beach Gardens police said 40-year-old Patenema Ouedraogo told officers he was going to Williams' home Monday night "because he loves her'' and "he knows the feelings are reciprocal.'' An attorney for Williams said he had recently obtained a restraining order after Ouedraogo tried to contact the player three times. Subdivision security guards stopped Ouedraogo as he walked in a few minutes after Williams' sister, Venus, returned home, police said. The guards had been told to call police immediately if they saw someone matching Ouedraogo's description. It was unclear if Ouedraogo has an attorney. He is being held on $25,000 bond. According to the police report, Serena Williams' attorney, Malcolm Cunningham, got a restraining order to keep Ouedraogo away from Williams after he followed her to a meeting with her agent in Los Angeles in October. Cunningham told police Ouedraogo pretended to be Williams' assistant in Tampa earlier this year while she was at the Home Shopping Network. Ouedraogo allegedly convinced HSN security he worked for Williams and was given access to her dressing room. Williams had him escorted from the building, but Ouedraogo waited outside for the rest of the day. Cunningham said Ouedraogo also followed Williams to a radio interview in South Florida last month and demanded to speak with her. "It's been unsettling for her,'' Cunningham said in an interview Tuesday. "He continues to show up places, including her community.'' On Monday, Palm Beach Gardens police say Ouedraogo told them he knew where Williams would be because he'd been following her on Twitter. Police said they found in Ouedraogo's backpack a book written by Williams and a letter to actor Tyrese Gibson asking him to arrange a meeting between Ouedraogo and Williams. Ouedraogo called Williams "his dream soul mate'' and said he would "do anything to meet her and let her know,'' according to the report.
