Absolutely!

I remember the build-up of anticipation...the excitement...the joy...

...then crying all the way home after realizing how bad George Lucas destroyed the franchise.

????

I've never understood the vitriol against Episode I. Despite Jar-Jar Binks the rest of the movie delivers.

Harriet Andersson's performance in particular was the epitome of gut wrenching.

If I ever watch a movie that makes me cry, it'd better be tears of happiness or someone is going to be in BIG trouble.

To me, movies are entertainment, and entertainment is happiness, so I don't watch movies in which anyone dies unless they are: (1) killed by a monster; (2) killed by Arnold or Rambo; or (3) killed in a cartoonish Quentin Tarantino way.

What's the most heart-wrenching, saddest movie you have ever seen (or at least can recall)? Here's mine:

Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal star in Focus Features' Brokeback Mountain

Definately a good choice. I feel like watching it again.

Totally, but I also was crying when the teenage son was learning about his heritage and doing the Maori Warrior dance..so moving...

That choked me up but I didn't cry.

I tried not to but after the daughter.

There are so many, but Grave Of The Fireflies tops my list. I have never seen a movie so heartbreaking. It probably is the most depressing film ever made. Elephant Man is a good choice too. I also like moving films that make you cry because of deeper meaning and not necessarily a death for example. Shyamalan from Sixth Sense to Lady In The Water did this so beautifully (and Shyamalan was my last hope for mainstream Hollywood. Originality and more artistic storytelling...it didn't last long before they killed him...a sadness in itself), especially The Village which just reminds me of the corruption of modern day everytime i watch it (the hauntingly beautiful score by James Newton Howard makes it doubly hard hitting) and it hits home hard. Really hope Shyamalan gets out of the corruption machine soon and gets back to writing from the heart.
