This is truly a tragic week...

First a girl i went to high school with i did not know her very well, but she was a cheerleader and when i was in football we collaborated with them quite a bit. She was a pretty girl all the guy's wanted to date her it seemed like lol...

She had some issues with drugs and sadly she died of a heroin overdose and she is only 20! she is my age it's just surreal to hear that=[

And today a guy i went to school with that i actually had a bit of a crush on years ago he was a soccer player & they would practice by the football field he was a cute guy. Very sweet & smart and he passed away today=[, he had some kind of disease and was told months ago he only had a few months to live how awful is that?

This goes to show life is to short.... and can be cut down at any minute.

Cherish what you have and cherish your loved one's as many time's as you can, i'm so.... just idk i feel so weird and it's just idk how to explain it.

But it's awful they where so young both of these people with there whole life's ahead of them! like i said always cherish the good moments you have.

I also lost two people in one week just a little over two weeks ago. I know exactly how you feel.

I mean i didn't really know the girl well, and the guy i talked to many a times and had a crush on... but still it's such a hard blow.

Deaths of young folk are often particularly tough. If there's a silver lining here, it's perhaps that sometimes experiencing mortality so close, so unexpectedly, can really propel us to live more mindfully -- and that's a very valuable lesson to get at age 20, when many of us carry on like we're darned near invulnerable.

I just read from a friend on FB I went to school with, that there has been another spate of suicides amongst former students he is asking WTF is it about our school? A classmate of mine had 2 brothers that killed themselves within months of each other. Can you imagine their poor mother?

I'm so sorry to hear that!, this reminds me though the girl that died of a heroin overdose had a brother that died in 2005. So her parents have to deal with both of there kid's passing i can't imagine what that feels like!

I can't imagine ANYTHING worse

My best friend of 25 years passed away after a car crash, that same year, 2 more of my friends died of drug overdoses, one of which was believed to be a suicide.

Life can be grim at times, but you must always hold your head above water because its so easy to be consumed with darkness.

In December I lost a highschool classmate due to complications from lupus. She was only 31. We were all crushed. We served on student council together and she was a cheerleader and graduate of the University of Michigan.
