omg Hell yeah!

Our favorite chinese restaurant in the world is Shangri-Lah (it's near a Holiday Inn within walking distance of the Commons).

There's also a Tex-Mex place that we ate at (was it Faneuil Hall?) that was really good!

nod

Boston is great! Can't wait to go back.

That's ONLY because that one restaurant has ACTUAL Mexicans throwing down in the kitchen.

Tex Mex joints here usually have Asian folks cooking it. shake I kid you not...

Simco's is a guilty pleasure. All that stuff is fried, and the last time I visited I stuffed myself like a pig and was sick for three days.... And, yep, it was the clams. drool

Its always the clams... dead

I swear you have to go to Flamers.... you MUST! Pick up the food, run out with the food in your ride and go to your crib and eat it. Its literally a hole in the wall..

A fancier spot in the South End is Addis Addas... best Ethiopian grub. Its a wonderful experience eating with your hands. I recommend their cottage cheese and the lentils(its all great food actually) ... with the house Ethiopian wine. DELISH! The Indian jiont next door has AMAZING tamarind martinis.

^^^ pairing that with a theater experience is an awesome time in Boston... that or a long stroll on a summer's night.

There are many, many nice ones. They tend to be better the further you're able to travel from Bangkok though. Still, within not more than 3 hours there are still nice beaches in Hua Hin, Cha Am and Chonburi. They're not secluded, tropical paradise type beaches you get on some of the islands and in remote places, but they still make for relaxing daytrips and short getaways. smile

Thinking about it, I'd like to go to Ao Manao (lemon bay) again. That's only a few hours from here.

aside from the bugs... it must be great to live in a tropical paradise. Even if it is developed and sports a huge population.

Yeah, Bangkok's certainly not a 'tropical paradise' lol But it is a fun place to live. Live near, anyway, since we live right on the outskirts on the border with Nonthaburi. Much more relaxed cloud9

The thing to remember is that some 8-12 million ppl live in Bangkok, but no other city has more than about 250,000 ppl, so there is a lot of 'tropical paradise' in Thailand. nod

Out here in the burbs it feels like a village, not like being in a megatropolis like Bangkok.

If I recall correctly it's on land owned by the army or navy. You can go there without any issues, but that seems to keep ppl away to some extent as it never seems as busy as other beaches in the area. thumbs up!
