I know exactly how you feel. I don't believe in closing an account though, but I do believe in taking long breaks. I was on a thread once that led to a long term member going off on me and I could not for the life of me think of why she took my comment, which was not serious and in the GD forum, so seriously. I have avoided her ever since. For a long time I avoided, if I could, every single thread she was on.

I don't get why people go into attack mode sometimes, like they have post tramatic stress disorder and something sets them off so they go into fighting mode. Bottom line is I like my org name and my avatar and I don't want to change them. They suit me, .

imo a huge part of what goes wrong here at the ORG is when people become overly emotionally invested in the website and forget that it's not really real.

the reason why it is VERY IMPORTANT to remember that this is just a website, is because this is a very, very one-dimensional form of communication.

we think we know what the other person said from their typed comment, but in many cases we are guilty of projecting our own interpretation onto somone else's words, thus taking offense at something that is not actually there.

and, let's not forget, a lot of the times we don't even know the person whose words we take offense at. when this happens, it says more about us than it does about them, since we don't even know the context of their remark, nor what they truly meant when they typed whatever they typed.

by way of which i mean to say, don't leave. stick around and have some more fun! just try to ignore the bad and enjoy the good. just my 2c

I guess you are right. I have some kind of anxiety dream every night ever since I returned home in December. I was not too bad and hardly afraid to walk on water tonight, but mostly worried if I should take out my contact lenses so that I won't lose them in the water .

I keep having sex dreams about this 24 year old and like if I see him soon after one I'm afraid he could tell, and I make things worse by imagining that in real life we make eye contact just that little bit too long
