I get what you mean and shopping online etc has acertain implied risk with it....what I object to is Sonys and oter setups who make it impossibel to use, for example the Playstation3, unless you hand over unecessary data like address and date of birth...how does that have any baring on the product?

It just leads to scenarios like this where it completes a hackers portfolio on you...realistically they need nothing but a password and online id (Mayvbe an email adress to verify changes etc)...after that its all unecessary.

what sucks is this affected my Netflix (through my playstation) but after repeatedly trying to log in (even though it said I had to log into the playstation network in order to use Netflix) it finally bugged out and got into Netflix. Weird.

Yeah the PSN was attacked by hackers (because unlike Microsoft, Sony actually gives a shit when people try to hack or mod) but at least you can have good games without playing with a bunch of hackers.
