I hop on our Wii and our neighbor's Playstation just to spend time with my daughter and the little kid downstairs, but I haven't intently played a video game on my own interest since probably 1997ish. I've just been too busy since then.
Back in the day I was a big fan of the Megaman and Gabriel Knight series. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Nowhere near as much as I used to.
I have a Wii... actually want to get an Xbox360 though.
Favorite game of all time? Shenmue (on the Dreamcast) & Shenmue II (DC & original Xbox). You can't fuck with those games. If/When Sega announced Shenmue 3, I'll buy whatever system they announce it for, THAT DAY. lol. When I was a kid, I had a Sega Megadrive (aka Genesis), and I spent hours on the original Sonic games and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker. Streets of Rage II was another favorite, and Toejam & Earl. I also love the Zelda series, Link To The Past on the SNES is my favorite. I've never been able to get into the 3D Zelda games though, but I'd like to. The most recent game I LOVED was Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the Wii.
I don't really play anymore because I don't have the time or inclination. When my friends come over sometimes we'll play Wii Sports and stuff like that. |

Shenmue. Fuck. I remember beating the second one when it came out on the Dreamcast (It was how I spent New Years Eve that year. No regrets.) and thinking how agonizing the year or so it'd take to get the sequel out were gonna be.
And here we are. Ten years later and nothing. I still wanna know what happens. I still believe it'll happen, and whereever I am in my life, I'm buying it when it comes out, no questions asked.
Anyway, I still play games, but they're all old. I like portables because I'm busy a lot these days. I really liked the version of Final Fantasy IV they put out on PSP just now, although that game's been a favorite for... shit, almost exactly 20 years now. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

I'll be gaming until my hands cramp up from too much playing. It all started with my dad picking me up so I could reach the Pac-Man game. Personally, I'm a lover of RPG games. Final Fantasy, Revalations the Demon Slayer, stuff like that. When I was younger, it was all about Yoshi's Island and Tetris Attack. I think that's why I have eye issues now... I stayed glued to those games back in the day. Right now, I have a XBox360 and we've got a "Family Wii" in the living room. There are so many games I love and I can't even think to name them all right now. One that comes to mind is that Crisis Core game. Technically, that's not even supposed to be my platform, since I get nervous and stuff around games like that. But my ex got me into that. I wanted to learn Zack's story and really got into it. (I suppose prior game play of Final Fantasy 7 helped a bit..ha ha.)
My favorite games usually have rich, emotional stories. They can be 3d or 8bit, but that story has to be deep. Don't even get me started on the late nights with Final Fantasy Tactics on my PS2. I would turn the sound down, turn on some Sade, and level up all night long on the weekends. This was way before Adult Swim was on all night, and waaay before Nick at Nite had anything good on. Hand me a bowl of sunflower seeds and a tall glass of water, and I was satisfied.
I still game, but not as much. It comes and it goes. I'm kinda mad right now because my PSP just went missing. THAT'S where I had a chance to play some good games like Chrono Trigger and this Sailor Moon game that I never even knew I could get. Now, I'm into the Katamari thing with the rolling and such. The music on that game is so great. What I miss most, though, are the games you had to level up on. Like I said, I'd sit down with a game each day and level up. Mute the sound, and play my own stuff. Who knows, I might get back into it.
Nowadays, I satisfy my game fix with something simple like games on pogo.com or king.com.

Hey UptownNY I know you´re a hardcore GTA fan, and maybe we should dedicate a thread to that game real soon. I love the GTA series but for some reason, The Lost and the Damned was not really my thing. Don´t know what it is but I don´t really like the atmosphere, with the bikers and all, the music, the fucked up place where Johnny was staying, the biker bar etc.
It is a great game with fantastic gameplay and an interesting storyline but I was glad when I finished it and I don´t really look back. GTAIV and Gay Tony are a different thing though...I really miss being Niko Bellic, that guy and his friends, especially Little Jacob and Patrick became dear friends of mine and the storyline and dialogues were unbelievably good. I also enjoyed The Ballad of Gay Tony immensely. Funny dialogues, interesting storyline, great characters, and all in all a feelgood game, especially because of the nice vehicles and weapons and the club scene...loved it! But, all in all, I´m quite happy that I own The Lost and the Damned and I´m glad I played it because I love how the three storylines intertwine. It all makes a lot more sense when you play all three games. And the weapons and motorbikes were cool, too, but like I said, I´m not really into the biker scene, probably because I know people in the biker scene and I don´t really like that subculture. I found the game Lost and the Damned a tad too realistic, which is actually a good thing as far as games are concerned.
By the way.....did you get what really happened with the diamonds? I mean, Louis kinda dropped them, and then the bum found them and got rich, right? But then again, Niko lost them also and they ended up on some dump. I´m getting a bit confused here, been a long time. I think there were a few plotholes regarding the diamonds, right?

do you? I do now after a while of not really playing. I went for a good year or 2 without much interest in games. Around November, I dusted off my Nintendo DS and bought a Retron 3 and I've been playing games regularly
do you own a powerful computer? a Play Station? an Xbox? etc? Not at the moment, just the 2 I stated above. I may get the new Nintendo console that comes out next year and I'll probably get a Xbox 360 later this year
which are your favourite games? (both modern and vintage) Kingdom Hearts, New Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Final Fantasy, Streets of Rage, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Do Re Mi Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Children Of Mana, Mario Kart, Blue Dragon, NBA Street, Street Fighter. Some other RPG titles

No I don't and never have.
I know many couples who's marriages and relationships are on the rocks because of excessive gaming. My closest friend is on the brink of separation because her husband can't stop and her oldest kid is the same.
I don't understand why anyone would want to spend hours a day playing this crap. It's a complete waste of time. People should be talking, reading, playing with their kids, doing something around the house, having sex rather than wasting precious time on gaming. Just my opinion, but I've seen how damaging it can be. [Edited 5/17/11 9:56am]

do you own a powerful computer? a Play Station? an Xbox? etc? We have a Wii and a PS3. We also have a PS2 in the spare bedroom and in the loft we have a Nintendo 64, SNES, GameCube, Dreamcast and a few other old consoles.
which are your favourite games? (both modern and vintage) I'm a parent now, so most of my gaming is with the kids. They currently love Lego Batman and Ghostbusters on PS3. Lego Batman is pretty good! Ooh, Plants V Zombies is pretty addictive too! We also go through phases of SingStar. On the Wii it's usually a Mario game of some kind, or Just Dance.
My favourite game was Shenmue on the Dreamcast. Ooh and Pandemonium (playstation)
if you don't play anymore...why? I still play, but not so much. - I have kids, work, a social life etc, etc. If I get a free evening (and i'm not catching up with the org), I usually watch a film or read becuase that's more relaxing to me than playing video games. We will always have games consoles in our house. My kids love them and both my husband and I are closet geeks.
