Woohoo! Job Interview on Tues

I'm back on the Market! First real job interview I'll be having down here in New Orleans. Not really expecting or banking on it panning out, but it'll be good experience just the same. It's for some bathroom remodeling place. They have a call center and need agents.

I was suprised I even got calls. I barely submitted some resumes yesterday. Other pursuits were by pen and paper app type.

Thanx for the well wishes everyone. Here's an addition to the story. my friend moved down here recently from Cali. He can't drive and lived in the middle of nowhere. Plus he was tired of being his sister's live-in-nanny. We arranged for him to move down here. He has. Been here about 1.5 months. I figured he would be coool about this and go look for a job without making me get on him, in a reasonable time frame. I've asked him and he has yet to put in an app ANYwhere. I knew, but I asked him anyway. I hope that leading by example helps. I put apps in on thur, got 3 call backs, and 1 arranged interview. I don't like that he's gonna force me into asking/forcing him to go go look for a job. He needs 2 b a man and do it on his own accord.

whew. got it off my chest...had to tell someone, but didn't wanna make waves for him on facebook.

I will burn a candle for you tuesday. Good job!

My advise on friend:

Try to talk with your friend. Start with listening to him. Ask him about his plans. What he would want to do and what is holding him back. Ask him what the obstackles are for him. You can tell him that you had different expectations of him staying with you. However, those are your expectations, not his. Ask him what his expectations are. Then see if they are somewhat the same or really different. It's no use of trying to force your values on to him.

The only thing you can do is ask him not to violate your values. And when he does, you have to intervene and set your boundaries politily, however, very clear.

Don't try to solve his problems for him. He is entitled to his own life, including the rough periods we all go through and learn the most from.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
