I've only had one black cat and he did have strays of white hairs on his belly. He was a good cat but not very talkative.

We rescused a Siamese kitten, blue point, last fall. He was the runt of the litter but he makes up for it lol He is very loyal and is constantly talking to me. He thinks he's human and sits on the kitchen chair when we sit down for dinner.

My mom has a Siamese too. She is talkative and starts meowing up a fit when the phone rings. If it's a a telemarketer, my mom puts the phone up to the cat. She just meows away.

And yes she was very talkative

falloff

My cat is talkative in the morning, just before dinner. And again in the afternoon. Again right before dinner. The rest of the time it really depends on his mood. confused

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

My Sammy is all black...no white hairs at all. He'll be three in June but when he was a baby he was very vocal. These days he doesn't say much unless he's hungry or wants to go out, but he's very affectionate, especially with my youngest son. He follows him everywhere and sleeps with him too. He is very skittish around visitors, including my oldest son and will run and hide from sudden noises.

He's the silliest cat I've ever owned...one day my son caught him sitting on the scale and looking at the numbers like he was actually weighing himself. lol

I have a black/dark brown Maine Coon cat. She is very doglike, comes when I call her, very dependent and extremely affectionate. And yes, she talks up a storm. I call it yelling sometimes-she knows how to make her point

I love Maine Coon cats, they're my favorite.

I have seen black cats that are solid black, with no white on them whatsoever. I have also seen male cats who meow a lot, and others that don't. I think it depends on the personality of the cat.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I have two cats which are brothers. One is "blue" (gray) and the other is black. Both have a little white patch right in the center of their chests, below the neck. "Black Mack Daddy" is the sweeter of the two. He is more vocal and more affectionate than his brother "Blue," who is a bit hankty.

I've noticed that male cats are generally a little sweeter than females, although I've had two female cats that were very affectionate and both were "lap cats." Doris used to follow me around like a puppy and fetch like a dog. Didi was the most beautiful cat I'd ever owned. She looked like a Burmese and had those strikingly beautiful blue eyes. She was not comfortable unless she was in my lap.

mushy How cute is that? giggle

There is a cat at the shelter where I work that meows a lot, but she only meows at one person. It's funny, because as soon as the cat sees this person, she will just meow, meow, meow non-stop. It's like the cat is telling this person a long-winded story. lol The cat is not black, she's a tortieshell, but she loves to meow.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I do! Talks a lot! Especially when hungry! Or thirsty! Or wanting attention! And she snores now too!

A few white hairs. Most black cats are really dark brown striped torties in direct sunlight anyway....

Our black cat will go somewhere like the basement and start meowing and sqeaking in this weird voice like she wants everyone to come be where she's at. She also enters through the cat door with alarming "meows" as if she is loudly saying, "Hello...hello!!! Is anyone here! I'm here now!!!"

Yep. I've noticed that, too. The fur is definitely dark brown in sunlight. Another thing I've noticed is that the black cat's fur is shinier than his brothers "blue" coat.

I used to (totally black) for a few yrs.. I named her Selena Kyle (yes, after Catwoman.. lol)

I loved her so.. biggrin but lost her due to dumbass old room mate mad

- and he was the one who gave her to me... hmph!

she was the runt of the litter so she was smaller than normal... he accidentally let her out, she got pregnant.. She got knocked up with 8 kittens! One was born with a malformed rib cage.. kind of smushed, but he seemed fine.. (too crowded in the womb?)

- she woke me up when she went into labor.. poor baby was panting, hard.. looked like she didn't know what the heck was going on.. lol

the birth was gross.. lol but nice to experience I guess..

oh, and she tried to have them on my bed eek but I put her in the big box I had prepared with old sheets and stuff

was able to give a couple of away, but had to bring rest to ASPCA.. broke my heart.. sad (other friend was allergic)

idiot roommate left window open and she escaped again.. she came back..

he did it again doh! and she came back for food a couple of times, but never to stay.. sad neutral then I had to move and never saw her again. She was such a sweetheart... smile

Thankfully both of my cats talk very little and when they do its not very loud (in fact most of the time they have these really cute little mini squeaky voices lol ). My last cat (that I had for THIRTEEN YEARS! lol ) SCREAMED LOUDLY all the damn time! He was black and white, but so is one of my cats now and they're NOTHING alike. The only time my current black and white cat ever really has much to say is when it get out of the shower, at which point he follows me around making all kinds of weird elongated meowowowowwwwowww vocalizations. And he'll copy whatever noises you make at him. But only after I get out of the shower. shrug lol

I was at my sister's house when my current cats mother's water broke... on my leg! confused lol She was SUPER pregnant and had actually been climbing in and out of her birthing box for a couple hours. Then she climbed up on my lap and got all comfortable, puring and everything. About fifteen minutes later I was like, "dang, the cat is making my leg really hot", picked her up, big ol' wet spot on my jeans. disbelief I was there while my cats were being born, though, so that was cool.

Sorry you lost Selena. I would NOT have been happy about that. hmph!

Laila died last summer (sad ) pitch black and gorgeous(no white patches) and while she wasn't talkative, her "side eye" behaviour was legendary lol I wish I had a gif so I could explain what I'm talking about.

Everytime some of my guests come to the house, she would climb the chair/or the table and she would stare up & down at them, some of them even got uncomfortable and self-conscious. I'm NOT making this up, I'm not that good falloff

She was spoiled and proud as all hell too, I miss her.

Yes I own a black cat, his name is Zero and is probably the smartest cat we have ever owned. He waits each day for my son to get home, follows him around the house, watches TV, and at times won't stop meowing. He is pretty awesome!

My cat is fully black but underneath his neck theres this little patch of a gingery brown that kinda glows in the summer.

Hes always meowing, he even goes to my neighbours house and meows at her too, everytime me and her are together hes there lol He's the most nosiest cat, he's very sociable tho. He likes to be with people all the time listening to conversations and likes to watch me a lot.

I've always wanted a black cat and is the best cat I've had.

It's almost like you can have a whole conversation with her cat. Sometimes, it sounds like she says hi. I have three cats myself. My female cat, who is usually very quiet, has been very talkative lately.

One morning, she was squawling in the kitchen. I ran out there because I thought something was wrong. She just wanted petted. She has me trained well. biggrin

lol Cats definitely have us owners well trained. nod At the cat shelter where I work, we have an elderly cat that has cancer. The one day, after my shift had ended, I was sitting in the lobby with a cat in my lap. All of a sudden, the cat who has cancer started meowing very loudly. Myself and the other two girls got concerned, thinking that she was in pain, and that something was wrong. Turns out she just wanted some attention. lol As soon as we went into the room where she was she quieted down. We wound up putting her down in the room where the two bosses were, so she wouldn't feel lonely. Cats are smart, and they know how to get our attention. cat
