Knicks did the best they could with this flawed roster. They just don't have the right pieces.

If Amar'e done, Knicks are getting swept.

Can't even hate on that crazy performance from Melo, either. I mean, shit, he even passed the ball! lol

Amare seemed pretty sure he'd be back for the next game. Not sure it really matters at this point, but we'll see. They definitely have a must win coming up.

He doesn't have the right point guard. Raymond Felton was better at running those pick & rolls than Billips. And Toney Douglas is more of a 2-guard.

Knicks are finished. They're basically two supertars and an aging PG surrounded by D-league players.

You're right about sticking a fork in them for this season nod stickpoke , but the whole Melo trade was a long term pickup. They need a few more pieces before they become a formidable contender.

Even if they were playing now, the league doesn't allow that kind of defense anymore, thanks to the overrated David Stern.

Well, basketball season is done in NY. Like I said before the series, the Knicks would be lucky to win one game.

Lot of surprises so far. And I agree with Kenny Smith, Phil Jackson and Stan Van Gundy need to change the gameplan, 'cause so far, it ain't working. Magic can't get open J's because the Hawks aren't doubling Dwight. Lakers are getting killed with the mismatches on CP3. hat was a virtuoso performance last night.

Hey Uptown - I'll see your overrated assessment and raise you an unchecked mob boss.

In my book, calling Stern overrated is like saying Hitler was a little overzealous. (OK maybe I'm being a little over dramatic but could you grant me a poetic license)? lol

The more I hear/see Stern, the more believe he is a total power mongering douchebag. The way he handled the Seattle - Oklahoma transition was an embarrasment. And more recently, the way he "dealt" with the Stan Van Gundy comments was off the charts. Who the F*ck does he think he is, Don Corleone?

Any way - given your user ID, I imagine you aren't exactly a Celtics fan. j/k I was pumped to see us sweep the Knicks as it gives our vets more time to rest. Going through Miami and Chicago will be real tough (especially Chicago), but if we get Shaq back and he can play a solid 20 per game, I think our chances do improve quite dramatically.

If my boys can't make it, I'm definitely pulling hard for Chcago in the East and anyone but the darn Lakers in the west. P.S. I've heard it said that all the Lakers players like to steal purses from old ladies late at night..... Those soul-less jerks....razz

Yeah unless you're from Boston I don't blame you at all. Chicago is an easy team to root for and the closest thing they have to a villian (as far as I know) is Noah. And he's more of a constant menace than a true villian. In the past KG has been so stupid with his quasi-thug antics that I've HATED watching the Celts play sometimes.

It's kind of like the Bill Belichick as a coach thing. If he's on your team you love it at best or deal with it at worst. But if he were any where else you'd probably wish very bad thoughts on him and his family!!!! lol

Western Conference Playoffs - 1st Round:

San Antonio 86

Memphis 104

Memphis leads the series 3-1.

Holy crap! omg omfg shocked Are the top-seeded Spurs about to go down and out for the season? On TNT at halftime, Kenny Smith showed just how old the team looks on the court, having three defenders back on fast breaks yet unable to defend shots. But the Spurs are the oldest team in the league, so maybe age has caught up with them. It may have been a telling sign when they got off to such an explosive start for much of the season, yet in the last month they struggled to win games.

It happens to all contending teams. Spurs have had long seasons for the past eleven years now. All those games(exhibition, regular season, playoffs, finals) take its toll. It's happening to the Celtics and will happen to the Lakers.

The Sixers showed some heart against the Heat yesterday. I'm glad they got one.

Evan Turner looks like he gets it now. Evan should start next year for the Sixers.

I'll enjoy that one because i know Miami is gonna crush them next game.

MAN!!! That Memphis - San Antonio final was so darn frustrating.

Why can't teams figure out how to foul with less than 5 second less when they are up by three???

Heck - bring in two big guys, leave Duncan alone and pressure the ball on the inbounds. I'm not a coach and don't know the intricacies of the game THAT well, but it seems to me with 1.7 seconds left and up by three, your coach and the players should collectively be smart enough to prevent an uncontested three pointer from the top of the key.

Grrrr...

I must admit I was watching the Bruins game 7 and only caught the last 3 minutes. Once their guard hit the three I told my girlfriend I was going to bed because the Spurs were going to win by 8 in OT.

Was it just a couple of bad calls or was it really bad?
