Is a journal a good gift for a guy?

I have this close guy friend (who I have a bit of a crush on....) who's very creative and musical. I'm thinking about getting him a nice journal for his b-day, as well as baking his favorite dessert or something.

Any guys here use journals?

Does this sound like a stupid idea?

IT doesn't sound like a stupid idea, but it would be an awkward gift for me.

I write. I keep a tablet strictly for writing. That's all I fill it with. THen I go shopping to pick out a new one.

So getting him a journal would be a great gift but I'm sure he already has one in progress. You may never see him with it, so if the thought that he may not use it immediately is fine, yeah, it will be used at some point. No doubt with gratitude to you.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

a canvas or a bunch of blank cds would be better. Journals are kinda gay

If the guy is neither gay nor a writer then NO.

All I can think of is the Hamlet edition of Sassy Gay Friend...

You're gonna write a sad poem in your journal...and move on.

lol

Both seem a little bit rubbish

The journal is a bit meh and if you bake something he may see you in the same way he sees his mother confused

Why not just ask him out if he likes you then that will be a great birthday present biggrin

What you don't remember never happened

I think a pair of socks and a packet of handkerchiefs might be nicer

It's a nice idea, but some guys might be more comfortable being see writing in a cheap spiral notebook than in a nice journal
