I don't really follow the comics anymore, so I don't know what's going on there. It tripped me out that she could fly on the Justice League series. I was glad that got rid of that ridiculous invisible plane though! Look, it's a woman squatting at 3 thousand feet! lol

She can indeed fly in the comics as well. What I never understood though is why she bothered deflecting bullets with her bracelets when her skin was obviously bullet proof.

Breast implants? I think it's her padded bustier providing the illusion of bulging cleavage.

Lynda Carter: "Adrianne Palicki Looks Fabulous As Wonder Woman"

March 20, 2011

Link

Adrianne Palicki knew she had big boots – and a super-sexy, skin-tight suit – to fill when she signed on for NBC's upcoming re-launch of Wonder Woman, an iconic role originated by Lynda Carter in the '70s.

But there's no rivalry. In fact, Carter has nothing but wonderful things to say about the new TV incarnation.

"I think [Palicki] looks fabulous," Carter, 59, tells E! Online. "It's a new look and, jeez, her body looks fantastic."

She adds, "I'm sure there will be people who say she looks better than me and like her better than me – and that's also fine," she says. "I want this story to be told again. I'm really excited. I can't wait to see it."

But it's a two-way street, and Carter says she hopes people will cut Palicki, 27, some slack.

"I'm very sensitive to the fact that she will be compared," she says. "There's no getting around it."

So will Carter, who's currently gearing up for next month's release of her third album, Crazy Little Things, rock the tiara one more time in a throw-back on the show?

No guarantees, but Carter did say she's been in talks about a possible cameo on the show. "It's not out of the question," she says. "It would be great."

I usually don't like it when they alter things but I must admit, I like this one. They kept the original colors of her costume and it's features such as the magic lasso and the bullet proof bracelets and they also kept the original design of the costume such as the eagle on her chest. They basically just altered the cut of the costume, got rid of the bathing suit which did look kind of strange with the high heel boots, and put her in some skin tight long pants. This one, I like, because it reminds me of the "Wonder Woman" series with Lynda Carter when she had various versions of her costume such as the scuba diving costume and the motorcycle costume.

I like the costume but I still bet they are going to fuck the new Wonder Woman up. I know how they like to ruin things these days by making them seem so "realistic" and "believable" such as not giving her extreme superhero strength and having her fight like damn Bruce Lee with all that damn kicking and Karate shit. They need to stick to the Lynda Carter series "Woman Woman" as close as possible such as having her being able to throw men across the room, pick up the back end of a car, jump way up high on top of a building or over some trees, etc. And don't give her no new powers such as being able to fly because she's not Superman, she's Wonder Woman and each superhero has their own unique powers that apply to them. In other words, don't fuck up the memory of the Lynda Carter series because Lynda Carter was and will always be Wonder Woman.

The problem is and will be that this is a David E Kelly production. N there is no way that this wont look like a Ally McBeal with Super Powers though she will rarely use them.

If you want to reboot WW then go call Josh Whedon and find his movie script.

I just have a feeling that this new Wonder Woman show is going to crash and burn, because the TV networks are getting lazy and just trying to remake old shows instead of using their creativity to come up with something different. It's like the networks have given up trying to create any good network TV shows and are leaving the good stuff to cable.

tv typing

Lazy? My take is that there is so much nepotism going on in Hollywood that the people with REAL talent are being shut completely out of the picture and they folks making decisions in Hollywood can't do anything but remakes. The talent has thinned out into a flatline.

One of the gods gave her the ability to fly in the George Perez revival (I think it was Hermes).

(wiki):

Wonder Woman's body is a mystical creation made from the clay surrounding Themyscira. Through divine means, her disembodied soul was nurtured in and retrieved from theCavern of Souls. Once the soul was placed into the body, it immediately came to life and was blessed with metahuman abilities by six Olympian deities.

Demeter, the goddess of agriculture and fertility, blessed Diana with strength drawn from the Earth spirit Gaea, making her one of the physically strongest heroes in the DC Universe. She has been observed assisting in preventing large chunks of the Moon from crashing onto the Earth, supporting the weight of bridges, or hefting entire railroad trains. Although stated as at least somewhat physically weaker and slower than, for example, Power Girl, Diana's superior warrior training more than makes up for it, and through this advantage she is able to overpower either Kara, or her counterpart Supergirl.

While not invulnerable, she is capable of withstanding great concussive force, shrugging off high-powered rifle fire with some pain but little injury, being knocked through a building, and even surviving a warp-core explosion. She is durable enough to survive the rigors of space until she runs out of breath. While her superhuman strength affords her great resistance to blunt-force trauma, her skin can be cut by weapons if they are sharp enough. Her muscles do not produce lactic acids, giving her great stamina. This allowed her to once battle a clone of Doomsday.

Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, blessed Diana with great beauty and a loving heart.

Pallas Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war, granted Diana great wisdom, intelligence, and military prowess. Athena's gift has enabled Diana to master over a dozen languages (including those of alien origin), multiple complex crafts, sciences and philosophies, as well as leadership, military strategy, and armed and unarmed combat. She can mimic voices, although it is more difficult for her to mimic a man's voice. More recently, Athena bound her own eyesight to Diana's, granting her increased empathy.

Artemis, goddess of the hunt, animals, and the Moon, graced Diana with the Eyes of the Hunter and Unity with Beasts. The Eyes of the Hunter ability gives Diana a full range of enhanced senses, including enhanced sight and hearing. Unity with Beasts grants her the ability to communicate with all forms of animal life and to calm even the most ferocious of beasts.

Hestia, goddess of hearth and home, granted Diana "sisterhood with fire, that it might open men's hearts to her." This power has been shown to control the "Fires of Truth," which Diana wields through her lasso, making anyone bound by it unable to lie. This ability also grants her resistance to both normal and supernatural fire.

Hermes, the messenger god of speed, granted Diana superhuman speed and the ability to fly. By concentrating, Diana can mystically defy the laws of gravity and propel herself through the air to achieve flight. She is capable of flying at speeds approaching half the speed of light. She is swift enough to deflect bullets, lasers, and other projectiles with her virtually impenetrable bracelets. Her brain can process information at an incredibly fast rate.

Diana possesses the ability to relieve her body of physical injury and toxins by becoming one with the Earth's soil and then reforming her body whole again. During John Byrne's run, it was stated that this is a ritual so sacred that it is used only in the most dire of circumstances.

She is able to astrally project herself into various lands of myth. Her physical body reacts to whatever happens to her on the mythical astral plane, leaving her body cut, bruised, or sometimes strengthened once her mind and body are reunited. She can apparently leave the planet through meditation, and did this once to rescue Artemis while she was in hell.

I mentioned it also. Greek = Mediterranean. Italian/Spanish is close. Many Latina starlets have strong Spanish characteristics.

Palicki doesn't look very Mediterranean. However, she has very good on screen presence for Television. I was thinking this was for a solo movie. She would also work well in a JLA themed movie. I'm warming to her. But like JustErin, I'm not a fan of her tits.
