Thai Food... is my new favorite. I like it better than chinese food. The local chinese restaurants and take outs have been serving greasy salty dishes, that look even worse the next night if there are any leftovers. I tried a new thai restaurant, and it was my first time ever eating thai food. This restaurant at least...served amazing pad thai, great duck curry, amazing appetizers..i had a mango tofu dish..you could actually taste the vegetables. I also had chicken in peanut sauce with jasmine rice.....long live Thai food!

Ex-Moderator | I love Thai food!
I’ve been cooking my version of it on my own for some time now. And I took a cooking class when I was in Bangkok and while most of what I cook is good, now a few of my dishes are REALLY good. |

Love Thai food. My husband and I started eating it on a regular basis about 2 years ago. We still love it. The spices are delicious and I love all the mangos/nuts in some of the dishes.

Oh, I'd slap my mama for some Thai! I also like Indian dishes. They make a stew with chickpeas which is the bomb, and that chicken marsala is just delish! I also like the spongy bread called naan (?)

Is "Thai Food" just a metophor for Asian men? Because I've never had either. Christopher damn!

I absolutely love it. I don't know the names of any of the dishes though because I usually only go to the buffet (hell, I can't afford to order those high priced dishes otherwise).
My favorite is some kind of thin meat that is cooked in a pinkish/brownish sauce made from coconut milk. Andy is a four letter word.

I Thai Food too! Chicken or Shrimp phad si ew! YUM! Mmmm... chicken or tofu w/ veggies in jasmine rice also. Love that mangoes and papayas are incorporated in their dishes. "When words fail, music speaks..." --- Shakespeare

Pad Thai noodles yum coconut soup yum mango sticky rice yum thai iced tea YUM
But beware of the dishes made with fish sauce. You don't want to order it if you are on a hot date. It smells like feet! (But it takes pretty damn good.)
Chinese food doesn't even compare to Thai. Thai uses such interesting spices. You won't ever find a Thai dish that lacks flavor.

Its always a great choice for vegetarians eating out with omnivores as there is a wide selection of both styles to choose from. I also love that Thai cooking uses so many fresh herbs.

I like a lot of the Chinese stuff in Thailand though, like khao man kai (chicken on oily rice), and lots of the soups like kuay jap, for breakfast. Rice porridge is great too (Mon's just gone to buy some for me, in fact ).
I think my favourite Thai dishes have to be the salads and the sour soups. Stuff like somtam, yam tuna, tom yam and tom kha kai.
Also, THE best barbecue/dipping sauce can be found here, one particular bottled brand of 'nam chim suki', that just needs a squeeze of lime juice to attain perfection. I want to take that stuff everywhere I go!
Actually, possibly one of the best things food-wise in Thailand could be the amazing array of delicious fresh fruit. MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

Yeah Get some nice fatty sausages, burgers, potato salad and shit It's funny, I nearly always get farang food when I'm properly eating out. We went out with Ta and met up with a friend of hers and I ordered penne with some simple tomato sauce and she asked me don't I eat Thai food. I said I did. Every. Single. Day. We have one or two proper eating out type Thai restaurants we go to for tom yam, somtam, namtok, that kinda thing, but really, most of the time any dishes we might like either Mae can make as well as a restaurant or we know a small street vendor or little restaurant around home that makes it brilliantly.
We were going to go out when Ta and Stephan came over but in the end decided to buy the food and do it all at home. Mon's sister Ta did these clams in a sauce that was incredible. We ate in the usual Thai way, and the clams weren't all finished, so they gave the rest of the dish to me to eat later but I went straight up to our bedroom and shnaffled those muthafuckas up with the quickness

so let's review things, Mr Fauxie:
-you live far away from grey, rainy England
-you spend your days getting pissed, dining on exotic food, and presumably shagging your beautiful Asian wife
i kinda hate you. everyone's a fruit & nut case
