Any Only Children Here Like Me? Did you ever wish you had a sister or brother?
Growing up there was moments where I thought it would be cool but at this point it's more like whatever.

Never. I was raised together with my two cousins, so I've never felt need to have brother or sister. Kill All Hipsters

In a way yeah I'm an only child with both my mother and father since they had children from other relationships. Ironically I only feel I had one sibling and that's my brother on my mother's side.

Watching the relationship between my father and his sister always made me feel like I was missing something. Even when they fought there was a closeness there that I never saw with other people. They always seem to have this non-verbal understanding of each other. It always seemed that having a brother or sister was having someone who understood and knew the “whys” of you, so yeah I’ve yearned for it. Yet, at the same time as I’ve grown up I’ve seen that is not always the case, sometimes the biggest enemies are siblings. So at this point even though I think it could be nice I also know there are no guarantees, it’s just the luck of the dice a lot of the time. I can see the benefits of being an only child. Funny my mother’s an only child and her mother’s an only child.

When she was younger I believe my daughter wanted a sibling. Now, I don't think she cares. She's become very independent and would just as easily do her own thing with other kids around as she would play with them.

i'm an only child. there have been times that i thought it would be nice to have a sister/brother. but then again, my family has so much drama, that i think it's better that i'm alone.

Just twice.
First when I was the only child with no siblings left in the class, I was around 10 at that time. I thought it would be so cool.
And now. But because of somewhat selfish reasons, as I can't seem to agree on anything with my parents anymore. I'd love it if they had another child who could make them happy, I can't and don't want to change who I am.
Other than that, I never really had a problem with being an only child. I think it taught me how to amuse myself and be alone.

Only child here
Yeah, all my childhood I wish I had a brother or sister. Kids at school didn't care for me much either..
But despite me being the only one...it wasn't all too bad. I grew to depend on myself, and i regard all my close friends as the siblings God forgot to give me. And I love them all like family.
If I ever do have children, I would prefer to have at least two. But if I only end up with one, I'll be grateful none the less and I'll do my best to make him/her happy.

I was a temporary sister for one year to two crazy brothers. I'm happy as an only child for the most part. Especially after hearing my dad's stories of his older brother being a real ass to him his entire life. Thank GOD dad had a wonderful friend, Henry, who ended up being like a brother two him. Those two are like two peas in a pod. laughing, drinking beer, buying expensive SUVs...
I just hope dad and his gf don't turn up with a baby right now. Not that I wouldn't mind, but uh....come on now. Let's not stir the pot too hard.
