new job, same ole drama

Unfortunately new job is filled with catty gossiping bitches that don't do their job properly and are power tripping and demoralized people who work hard and are scared to speak up. Things were going well, but I hit a patch of bad luck that wasn't really related to my skills but made me look bad, and now these biddies got my name in their mouth sideways. I do refuse to be demoralized! I know what I did, and can always admit when I do wrong. I do the best I can but I am only human at the end of the day.

So....on to the next one! Already applied to a nice job that would pay almost twice as much. So once again, cross yo fingers, send me prayers and well wishes that I can leave without hurting someone and have a better paying job. Hell, if there must be drama, at least let me get pizzaid!!!

I do have a few folk on my side, thank God! Just can't do twofacedness and ignorance...i want to stay positive.

So did you leave this one, or are you biding your time?

I'll pray for you... hug

I'm going to leave, but am biding my time and biting my tongue. Just like most of us I need those checks. But I can't take excessive stress, especially when it's unnecessary, my pressure is already on the rise. I refuse to be slandered at my own job like I'm incompentent when I know damn well I'm not. Especially by a person who IS incompetent. Plus I will cuttabeesh if it gets outta hand. So it's just a matter of when.

Thanks for your prayers, I need 'em!

But on every job there is going to be some type of mess to deal with, however, I do agree with you that you don't have to take someone demoralizing you. If you make a mistake, then you made a mistake...at the end of the day, what's important is how that mistake is rectified. What the "higher ups" don't realize is that even THEY are capable of making mistakes...the only difference is that they have the power to blame someone else for it. There's no need in living in misery at a job where you aren't appreciated. I know what's it like to work with a bunch of gossipy, nosy women. Usually they are the idiots of the office who are complacent in what they do. Do what's best for you. Good Luck to you! biggrin

THe title "New job, same Drama" Makes me think of that phrase, no matter where you go, there you are.

Every job is like Peyton Place. It's if you let it get to you. No matter how different, you are still the same person.

I miss my lil ole part time job, first place I worked that was drama free. I've been working since I was 14, and have met some folk with issues and developed serious issues of my own, but this place is taking a cake job and making it a big flustercuck. Today was an absolute mess, and I actually stayed calm, considering how truly annoyed I was. Poor planning and disrespect of the people who should be in charge and listened to. Plus they know they have problems but won't fix them. It's truly a shame.

Identity

There's nothing I despise quite like Machiavellian office politics. I once worked in a setting much like the one you described for nearly ten years.

I received a substantial salary but the work environment was toxic and demoralizing. No matter what went right, it never pleased my so-called superior. There was also the matter of backstabbing coworkers. I was let go (much to my relief) when a massive layoff struck. I've freelanced every since.

May you have good fortune in your search.

Damn! Well, maybe it's for the best if it was a toxic work environment. Did it even last a month?

I'm hanging on with my job even though I work with a woman who is one of those micro managers. I had to tell her to back off (in a nice way) because I greatly resent anyone hovering over me or treating me like I'm a child.

I read the book, The Twisted Sisterhood, because I thought I was going crazy.neutral I knew stuff was going-on, but I just didn't know how to deal with it.

I don't think the book gave a lot of good advice, but it did validate a lot of feelings I was having... that women can be bitches sometimes.

The thing is I'm more of an in-your-fact bitch than a manipulative one--not that one is better than the other. I'm just not a very good "social game" player. I watch Survivor to learn.. but I'd be the type to win all the challenges---that is if I COULD win and wouldn't win the million because my social game was not good.

I guess men have problems, too, so I just don't think it's all about women being "mean girls." But dang... if you let those "mean girls" get into your head.. it can mess you up.

Wow! Hang in there girl, something better is on the horizon. It's a shame when people go to work just to take their frustrations out on others or get their giggles in at someone else's expense. You're better off not being a part of that mess.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

A whole 5 weeks! LOL!

And they tried to demoralize me before leaving.

Sad because I liked what I did, it was a good cause, and made some good friends! But the drama and backbiting from a few was already giving me anxiety attacks.

And I'm sure some of you would believe it's all me with a problem. I do have a problem! I can't deal with shadiness and halfassedness. I got into my career to do good, not soak people for money, or lie if I see something wrong. I believe in working hard, and doing quality work! If shit happens I try to fix it. I don't sleep right if something is not good, it hits me hard. For someone to accuse of me of doing a bad job because I took time to help someone and in the same breath tell me to be faster so they can do more and make more money and to jump on me if a mistake is made but have nothing nice to say when I work my ass off with no breaks, no lunch, no pee breaks, and late nights when I go home and my feet are swollen from standing all day and my neck is aching from doing hard labor...that's some bullshit!

Also the person who has been there the past 3 years, working with people who cursed at her, gave her no respect, no raises, who is about to lose her home to foreclosure, and was demoralized beyond ubderstanding also quit that day.

Now my previous part time job... Loved that place! They had their shit together, no drama. Just spoke to some people there and other jobs and they still miss me and love me. I got a facebook page full of people I used to work with that still talk to me. I think I'm okay to believe that I'm not a bad person or a bad employee, but I have possibly picked a bad profession.
