yes whew pray

Last night, me and the master, following his story were so despondent, sure MBB had lost his wife, and when I logged in first thing this morning and read the news, I burst into tears with relief, the whole thing has been too awful.

I'm alright. Had a hell of a shock being on the 4th floor of a building, though.

What part of the city are you in? Do you have power?

Im in Papanui, we have power if you need somewhere to go.

Cant imagine how bad it was inn the fourth floor, I was on the second floor of a building and that was bad enough.

I hope you and your loved ones are safe, get in touch if you need anything at all.

safe here in Dunedin, thankfully we moved to dunedin just over 10 years ago...we left behind a lot of friends and family....most of our extended family is ok in Chch though - their houses are a different story....

1 of my cousins is missing - we don't know if he was in the building when it collapsed or not...and haven't heard anything since....my thoughts go to all my friends and family, and all the christchurch people....we'll get through this...

My home town, its a shame to see this second and more brutal quake just 5 months after the first. The death toll is up to 175 now and a lot of Christchurch's beautiful late 1800s gothic revival buildings and most of its old churches are in ruin. It is a day of infamy here. The infrastructure is in tatters and my heart goes out to everyone who has suffered in this dreadful catastrophe.

New Zealand has a lot of earthquake faults and it was always though Christchurch was least likely to get the 'Big one".

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

Yeah, they've been talking about Wellington being overdue for a big quake since I've been alive. Cool city that it is, you couldn't pay me enough money to live there.

It's just so damn unlucky that it was so shallow and so close to the CBD.

I agree, its always windy and raining there. Wellington is like Seattle in New Zealand. Still I have 3 aunties and 12 cousins in Christchurch, thank god they are all okay.

I went in to work today to start the clean up. For those of you who live in Christchurch I work at ITM on the corner of Fitzgerald ave and Ferry Rd.

I'm in Auckland but the last few days have been really draining emotionally. I work in a travel agency and all our Christchurch branches are closed so for 3 days now we are getting phone calls from people wanting to fly out. Talking to people who have lost loved ones, homes and then an aftershock will happen during the call and you can hear the panic. It fucking sucks and feel totally miserable and sad for the everyone who has been directly affected. It's a been an awful 6 months for the South Island, the September quake, the Pike mine disaster and now this.

It was horrible to see PRB. I thought that would be the worst part of the day, but ringing the redcross missing person number about my wife is the hardest thing I have ever done.
