Yes and no.

If you’re compatible and attracted and everyone’s of legal age and all of those good things, then I wouldn’t worry about age too much. Especially if both folks are at least 25.

But, generally speaking, you’re going to find yourself most compatible with people within a 10 year age range or so. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen outside of that. Just that most folks are going to have an easier time with a relationship within a fairly close age range.

I should have said maturity too...lol for a long time I've been in long term relationships back to back. Since I've had room to date some were my age, some older and one younger (my kid's father 4 years younger). I made up my mind not to date younger but then I met someone 10 years younger than me. We are just 'friends' now but we have so much fun together-no pressure or judging. I'm curious to see where this is going...

No, it isn't.

At the same time, if the people are compatible in some way it's not really something that can't be overcome.

the things i thought were adult when i was in my 20s make me laugh now. i wouldn't want to be with someone who has not lived long enough to know the basics about living life. it would be like going back and doing second grade over or something...

This was my logic till I dated a 42 year old I broke up some months ago with who acted like a 17 year old just starting out. I tried but just couldn't lol

Age only matters to me in dating when it reflects maturity, which it often, but not always, does.

time flies.

Age means nothing... attitude is what matters and a persons willingness to accept another person into their life.....

I don't think age is a matter at all as long as you're not a pedophile, child molester, old people molester, Hugh Hefner or Prince.

There is a youngster I fancy (I see him a lot and I enjoy looking at him razz ), he must be mid 20s? But I'm sure he thinks I'm an old hag lol I know he likes me as a person, we get along great, but every now and again there are things that REALLY remind me of how YOUNG he is!!! Like that him and his friends think cassettes are "funny" mad

And not everyone on here lives in the US, so get outta here, bub. rolleyes

Anyway, I'm all for dating young dudes if it's just for fun and it's not a serious relationship.

Agreed. It's a scenario I've tried and I've definitely found it to be true. coffee

Hey, who said there's anything wrong with casual dating? lol !

It's just that if things head into serious relationship territory you could possibly run into maturity issues based on your respective levels of life experience. But hey, some eats, some drinks, some movies and/or good lovin'? Why not? nod . Be easy on the young thang, though- don't ruff him up too bad wink lol!

Going through that right now. It's not fun. We have nothing to talk about.

I know that there are people that are old souls and maybe if he was we would have more in common.

It really depends on who you're dating. Be carefule but have fun.

As long as someone is mature enough to handle responsibilities and treats you right, it don't matter.
