It seems that this is becoming true.

There will never be a satisfactory answer to this which all people will agree. I've learned to just keep my mouth shut when it comes to voicing an opinion about sexual orientation/description/definition/whatever. Too many folk get offended.

That a person wanted/wants it both ways, rather than accepting one way or the other. That they wanted the cake and intended to eat it, too. That a person has made the CHOICE to have sex with men AND women, which goes against all of societies norms regarding picking one side and sticking with it, and that that decision may be considered greedy versus someone who claims to have been born that way doing the same thing.
greedy: : marked by greed : having or showing a selfish desire for wealth and possessions
I mean really, what are you going on about here? You know full well what he's talking about. If you don't then I made some serious miscalculations regarding your intelligence. I think you're projecting your own opinions and insecurities on to his question so your panties are all in a bunch. His question was perfectly well stated and made clear sense to anyone with a sixth grade reading comprehension level. Maybe if you had actually attempted to discuss the matter with him intelligently instead of attacking he would be more inclined to respond.

Where did she attack? She expressed how she thought the premise of the question was faulty.
I too still don't get how "greedy" applies. Just out of curiousity, would the neighbor in question be a greedy lesbian or a greedy straight woman in this scenario?

Oh, come on, y'all! Everybody knows what "greedy" means! In this case, I think Graycap meant what any logical thinking person would think; that this woman can't get enough of what she already has and just wants it all just because it's there. That's greed. Didn't confuse me in the least.

I don't like herring. Hate it, in fact. If I start buying up all of it I can and eating it every chance I get, am I being greedy?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
No, you wouldn't be greedy. You'd just be an inconsiderate ass for buying it all up just to piss off the herring lovers.

Greedy in general. | |

Sexuality in itself is a complex thing, so deep that I don't think we as human beings will ever fully understand. I've heard people say it's predetermined, others say it's a choice. Some people say they used to be gay but aren't anymore, those that say they used to be straight but stopped. The crowd that said they tried being heterosexual but couldn't and vice versa. The nature vs nurture argument. I don't know. None of us truly do.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
And that's why I say "to each his/her/whatever own." If folk would just be honest with their partners, it wouldn't be necessary to justify anything. Tain't really know of my bidness anyway!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
but greed in terms of your question about bisexuality means making yourself available to any possible partner--male or female--whatever your true attraction is. Just to get more sex.
I can't imagine anyone is more sexually greedy than a hetero...or gay...man! A bisexual woman might be way more selective in her partners than a horny guy. And a straight woman can be as greedy as she wants, there will always be a willing male partner, no need to include women unless you're into them.
So I doubt greed is a motivating factor in determining sexuality. Your neighbor might be greedy in other ways, like wanting to be taken care of. My Legacy

Yeah straight men get multiple partners (and in some cases marry them) and SOME gay men think one guy is not enough, they gotta flirt with five other men at the club. Not all straight and gay men do this and same with straight and gay women, but I've read cases of it. In the case of bisexuals or even pansexuals, they are more selective, then again they also have multiple partners too. So it's all relative but just because people choose to be greedy doesn't define the sexuality they may see themselves as.

I used to live upstairs from a closet prostitute! Her 2 housemates didn't know, thought she just brought a lot of guys home all the time, and then one day they saw money changing hands and it all made sense.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
True but I guess I'm still puzzled as 2 why any single individual has 2 swing both ways. I don't really "get" it.

Ex-Moderator | Some folks are attracted to the opposite gender, some folks are attracted to their own, some folks are attracted to both.
Some folks want to be monogamous, some folks want to have multiple partners.
As long as everyone is honest, happy and consenting adults, it’s not for anyone else to “get” really. |

I think everyone has different motivations. You might find porn stars who engage in bisexual behavior, but that might not be motivated by sexual desire, right?
So one behavior might be motivated by different desires in different people. For example, some people might make music for the love of music, where others might make it for the desire for money, or desire for fame, or desire for respect, or the desire for sex... My Legacy

But none of those things sound biological in nature. Just choices that people make.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
right, but those are just examples to illustrate a point. I know people who have been in monagamous relationships with a women for years, then later in life in monagamous relationships with men for years.
That kind of thing seems to be simply a case of falling in love with both men & women--the right person at the right time. It's the same as any normal healthy relationship, just not limited to one sex.
Your neighbor might not be in that catagory, though. That is why I brought up porn & the muisic analogy to show that what might appear to be bisexuality might be something else My Legacy

So wait. Straight guys believe in bisexuals?
Straight girls sure don't.
Greedy. You're a real fucker. You act like you own this place--ParanoidAndroid <-- about as witty as this princess gets! I hope everyone pays more attention to Sags posts--sweething Jesus weeps

No need to be a condescending dick.
I didn't understand what he meant, because it still doesn't jive to me for someone to be greedy for something they don't have an innate desire for.
Sex with men and sex with women: I've done both and they're two different things. A straight man can be as greedy for sex as Kirstie Alley is greedy for cheesecake - he'll never be greedy enough to fuck another man, because he's not a homosexual or a bisexual.
The just greedy angle just doesn't jive for me, sorry.
And for your information, my panties were in a bunch because I was premenstrual!

No need to make excuses!!! it's true, nobody fucks someone they are repulsed by unless it's to make a living. There may be bi-curious girls out there, but if they are doing girls as much as they doing boys, they must have the hots for them too! I don't think people choose to go against norms and fuck people they don't feel any desire for, just because they are greedy People DO however, again and again, stay in the closet to NOT go against norms and get married and shit

If you did take the time to study a straight person, a gay person, a bisexual person and a person who is attracted to anyone who's grown and walks on two legs and occasionally two gender types, you'd probably would think it was too much to handle. It's really in how the dick and pussy reacts, if that makes sense.

And be miserable on top of that.

What ever works. | |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It's not that easy though. And I wouldn't say that I'm miserable.
Being in the closet guarantees that I have a fighting chance at climbing the ladder in business. And coming out to a girl about bisexuality is a deathnail in the relationship. She will drop you like a lead balloon.
I live a life I can live, and enjoy it. Some say it isn't terribly brave, but it's not like I vote against gay rights, etc. etc.
Gay and straight people seldom have to explain themselves like bis. Some gays may. But straights never do. Nobody says to a straight person, "You'll just eventually end up with someone of the same sex anyways" or "I think want to have your cake and eat it too."
