You too can end up on People of Wal Mart!

This made the news! WHY would you come forth and go to the NEWS and say this website is mean and took a picture of my mom looking crazy at Wal Mart !!!! falloff

Man if I ever found myslf on there looking crazy....I'd say NOTHING and not claim a thing! I'd be like, whistling

http://www.foxnews.com/sc...=obnetwork

Have you ever heard of the "People of Walmart?" The website lets anyone upload pictures they've taken of shoppers and post them online, basically so that others can make fun of them.

But one metro Detroit woman was not laughing when a picture of her mom popped up on the site, MyFoxDetroit reports.

"You can't be safe in a store while you're shopping? It upsets me," said Melanie Wheeler of Ypsilanti, Mich.

The caption below the photo of Wheeler's mom reads, "A member of the Canadian division of the trench coat mafia."

Wheeler said her mom was shopping at the Ypsilanti Walmart but did not realize someone had snapped her picture and was shocked to find it on the Internet. Wheeler says both her and her mother want the picture taken off the website.

"The thing is, if you take a picture of someone in public, they're in public," Wheeler said. "My argument is you're in a Walmart. We have no privacy shopping? So, I could go into any store and take a picture of anybody or their children and put it up on a web page."

Walmart has no connection to the "People of Walmart" website.

I thought, instead of getting all pissed, spend some time with your mom and make sure she's not going out looking busted.

And when is having your picture taken not "safe"? Did the photographer hit the lady with the camera? Cause her bodily harm in some way? As for the part, "I could go into any store and take a picture of anybody or their children," I've not noticed the People of WalMart using images of children. Do they?

Is it an invasion of privacy when you are in a public place? Was ANY personal information given?

It's totally embarassing, that cannot be denied, but it's not illegal in America...yet. "We have no privacy shopping" ??? Hell, in America you have no privacy period. There are cameras everywhere...but I digress.

Like you said...Don't look busted.

I'm firmly planted in denial

This is why I stopped shopping at Walmart. The clientel they attract are only second to the idiots/throwbacks they employ. I got tired of looking at the de-evolution of humanity when I was merely looking for a bottle of Advil and a dozen eggs. I have since started shopping at a local grocer whose merchandise is far superior then the garbage Walmart perpetuates. I may pay a little more, but it's more then worth it then to have to gather an eyefull of the degredation of mankind.

Christopher damn!

Exactly! Though, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if it turns out she's the one that took and posted her momma, in the first place. shrug

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I work at wal-mart as a cashier. The shit I deal with on an everyday basis. I got stories. Tons of them. The man with the snake around his arm. The woman loading the conveyor belt with the baby hanging off her titty in the open just a sucking. The straight uptight business man in a suit on, but when you look at his feet you notice he has on high heels. And walking in them like a pro. Old lady shitting on a floor. Old lady undressing in the middle of the stores cause she doesn't understand the concept of a dressing room. A lady in a hospital gown with her ass out. A mental patient that escaped from the hospital from across the street. Then his mom comes in the store yelling "quick hide all the sharp objects" Tons of fashion disasters. Too many to bear. Tons of titties and asses hanging out. Old playas in pimp suits on sunday after church. Young "boppers" as soon as the weather hits 50. A lady with OCD that holds up the line for 20 minutes cause she has to place everyting on the conveyor a certain way, and it has to come up to an certain amount, and rung out at a certain time. And all of thiis has to show on her receipt. If not, she's returning everything. A very humbling experience. I try not to judge anymore. Nobody is better than anybody. Most of all I learned a lot about people working there. A lot of sad and lonely people. People who are happy just becuase you were nice and held a convo with them. A lot of sad stories of people shoplifting food and clothes for their kids. Old men who come in talking to everybody bying a ton of frozen dinners cause they have no one to cook for them. Or older co workers who had great high paying job but were let go and now have to work at wal-mart as greeters or janitors. A lot of young girls who a brillaint but are stuck working there for the time being cause no one rooted in their corner. People who pour their heart out and talk about their abuse. A lot of people try thier best with what they got. The job sucks, but since I'm there I try to give love.

You should not feel butt-holish.

lyecry shared her/his work experience very well and in a very touching way. Of course all of these things go on and of course we should be caring and kind.

This doesn't mean we can't look at busted folk on a site and have a laugh.

Please, never feel buttholish over having a sense of humor.

Let's just face it, there are some mutants that shop and work at Walmart. I avoid Walmart at all costs.

Great post.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
