getting older...how do you view it?

hi....well i have been on the org now for nearly ten years and i will be the grand old age of 43 next month..... eek ....i find the ageing process very interesting....i didnt really see much of a difference in how i look up until my early 30s when my hair started receding slightly...which has continued of course but i still have a fair head of hair ....getting slowly grey but ..again..not too bad yet....so its not too severe...most of my male friends around my age have little hair left...my face has become a bit more weather beaten...still dont have many wrinkles apart from around my eyes....i have put a bit of weight on around the mid rift...but thats got a lot to do with my 3 year old girl taking all my free time...hope to hit the gym more this year....

.

so yes i look older but not too bad....i have noticed that the ageing process seems to speed up after you hit 40..?...i also have noticed my ears have gotten longer ?....strange thing ageing.....

.

any fellow orgers here starting to push it....how you getting on with it...?

Your nose has gotten bigger, too. Noses and ears don't stop growing. smile

Additionally, don't people always get some sort of sassy attitude at the age of 40 and have some sort of reawakening. Stella and her groove, etc.

I'll be 50 on Thursday, but folks say I look 35. Good genetics, working out and trying to eat decent helps.

I feel a bit achier, but I generally have kept my looks. People who knew me in my teens and 20s always comment on it. Personal challenges I face with regard to aging have to do more with issues of purpose and effectiveness. Sometimes I feel like I've wasted so much time doing unimportant things.

I'll hit 52 next week and no problems so far. I don't bend as good as I want though, but I keep putting off yoga.

As Lammie said, perhaps a bit achier here and there. And you know, there's getting down to the floor and making noises on the way back up. neutral

Overall I completely welcome getting older, in most ways. Look-related incidentals are much less a big deal if there was a time when you doubted you'd even get to be this age. So fuck it, bring on the wrinkles...not too much at once, of course. razz

Blackbob, we're the same age....yeah, those first couple of steps after sitting for awhile are a MOTHA****ER!

Generally, I'm achy all of the time and tired most of the time. But, when I get serious about excercise, most of tiredness should go away (although I will still be achy...lol)

My mind is still going full strength, however, I'm discovering that I don't care to learn about some of the new electronic devices. I don't feel like devoting time to them, because I dont' see them helping out in my life....Facebook, Android phones....naw, don't need them. I've got an email account, cell phone w/texting, that's all i need.

And, mostly importantly, i've still got a good head of hair lol

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I don't see it as a bad thing. I'm sooo glad I know more now and I do what I want when I want to. I'm actually having a good time right now. 36 and pullin guys 10 years younger than me. I was told by one of 'em that I look better than some girls their age-not bad for a 'ol laday! lol

Right now I'm just sooo happy that I am happy right now. living in the moment heart

Blackbob I am 42 at the moment same as you! and I have to be honest and say I fucking hate getting older!!! confused

I know its better than the alternative and all that but it is just the very subtle and small physical changes that suck

My eye site is just very slightly fucked up I read a book i take my glasses off I watch telly I put them on. If I go to a work lecture I look at the projector slides or whatever then back to my notes and I don't know whether to put my glasses on off throw them in the bin or buy freakin bifocals eek

I have plenty of hair but I have noticed literally 1 or 2 grey hairs it's like it's just waiting to mount a major offensive on my head mad

A lot of the folk I work with are in their 20s and it suddenly dawns on you that they could probably whip your ass on the squash/tennis whatever court that sucks!!!

However I do like the getting slightly wiser part and the fact that you have probably done a heap more than kids like zaza biggrin

Also perspective is a great thing that comes as you get older smile

Basically in 10 yrs can I transplant my brain into my 25 yr old former body razz

The thing I hate most about growing older is watching others around you that you care for die. It's slowly dawned upon me that THAT is something that will continue to happen until the day it's MY turn. Other than that, can't beat the experience and knowledge that comes with growing older. I look forward to growing wiser as I grow even older.

There's not much I miss about being younger, because with youth came so many headaches trying to figure everything out, and falling for just about anything. There's a lot to be said for having "been there, done that".

In total honesty...

I dislike that my body isn't as tight as it used to be, I dislike that i'm getting a few grey hairs and a few wrinkles. I dislike that I go into a club and feel old.

In a nutshell - I dislike that i'm no longer the girl that lots of guys fancy.
