The lack of emphasis on the word "hot", in your signature, has been pounding on the backdoor of my anal-retentive tendencies for months now. Please tend to this matter forthwith.
Thank you, The (Anal-Retentive) Management

To be the overly nice guy who babysits, gives rides to the airport, helps everyone and their mom move and shit like that.

Can you be overly nice?
But, yes, I hear you. For you:

Plus her massive mams. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I think it's possible. I've met people far worse about it than me.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Oh, it's definitely possible. But, if one must err (and we all must), 'tis better to err to this pole, no?
But read the article. | |

Reading it now
Edit: Yeah I agree with the idea they're presenting. The only part I don't agree with is the part I bolded below:
Begin to understand the intention behind every action you take and make a conscious decision to do only what is right for you.
I think there needs to be some sort of moderation. Don't let yourself become too self-serving to the point you have nothing to offer to others either.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes, it's all about balance. I think what the author really means is, "Don't do anything that is wrong for you".

I forgot about this scene. Maybe Chevy was funny at one point after all...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah that sounds a lot better.
But yeah it's something I need to work on for sure. Thanks for sharing the article, by the way.

It was something I needed to work on. I'm here to tell ya: There's hope!
And no problem! | |

I was born to entertain people with my arts.

to make music in my own way. I'm not a great writer but I can play it out.
to be a positive influence on people I meet. Maybe to subconsciously point people towards God.
I seem to do these things.

To actually answer your question: what was I born to do? I would have to honestly say to write... Now, that used to be a lot of creative writing but, unfortunately, that creativity became crippled by the austere technical writing in my Master's degree program...just as my undergraduate English Prof warned us about... Write.
I mean, at first it was a "thing" to get my frustrations out. Then it became the "thing" that kept me up at night. I feel so close to it. I'm probably the worst kind of writer out there, but I love what I do. I tend to step outside of the technicalities and such just to be as free-form as hell. I dunno. I just feel like I've got so many stories in me. I've got things in my head--poems, anecdotes, etc. that I want the world to know about. I blog like crazy, have notebooks everywhere....
If only I could actually sit down and finish something. I HAVE technically finished a book of poetry I've been tapping at since 2007, but I've yet to edit it and do last checks. It's almost like there's a fear no one will buy it, or that it will go unseen because I can't afford the conventional method of getting published.
All technicalities aside, I was born to write!
