I've been sick to the point that I felt I needed to miss work a grand total of two times since I was 15 years old (I'm almost 40 now). One time I was dieing from food poisoning - I stayed home (and should probably have gone to the hospital). The other time I had a terrible chest cold that was going around and I stayed home for two days because the office sent out a memo saying it was getting passed at work.

If a women tries to baby or mother me I dump her, immediately. Most annoying shit on Earth. Women only THINK that's what all men want. Trust me, they don't.

I totally made a generalization... damn it! *uhum* SOME women think that's what all men want. And that's a fact. A truly annoying one.

One mother is almost too much, even though mine is cool.

I think it's a weird thought that men want to be babied or that women want to baby men or that women think men want to babied and they don't

this whole thread is about how we want the men in our lives to not make such a frikkin drama when they are sick precisely because we don't want MORE mothering on our plates (for those of us who already have our hands full with kids )

The mothering instinct is VERY strong in some women. And when you become close to them emotionally, intimately or physically it often kicks in to some degree.

I did make a generalization in saying ALL of them think ALL men want that. But I feel pretty safe in saying a lot of them have no control over the instinct whether or not they believe it's what a man (even a friend) may want. However, some of them do FULLY believe that it is the way to a mans heart. I've had the conversation more than once with friends and significant others. "Oh he's just looking for someone to take care of him like his Mother." Grrrr! The thing is, unfortunately, SOME men are. But not all of us.

I wish I had more bosses like you. Not often, but enough times, I've been sick enough with a cold where I shouldn't be working, but since where I work its hard to cover a shift once someone calls out, I often have to stay. Its not even whether or not I'm spreading germs, its where I don't feel well enough to perform my duties.

Men are the real drama queens. And, actually, you should have stayed home. You could have gotten a co-worker sick. Better to be safe than sorry.
