Because some people's hair cannot grow long. My hair doesn't grow past maybe 2 inches below my shoulders. It just stops! They also add fullness to thinner hair.

I think some people can't grow their hair long without it breaking or doing strange things. And some people don't like the way their long hair looks and want a different texture or style to it. Maybe there are other reasons too.

maybe not everyone can have long straight hair without lots of toxic chemicals to straighten it out, and a wig is too hot & can fall off your head

The fullness factor is why I'm considering them.

Some people have weak hair and they still want to have them long..that's why they want hair extension.

My hair will not grow much futher than my shoulder level either

I would love to sometimes have much longer hair nod but only sometimes

When I was in college and grew my mullet, the left side grew straight down, but the right side curled up. I thought it was a cool and different.

I was a mess in college.

Somewhere I have a picture of me with my mullet. I'm in my catering uniform. It's endlessly unfortunate. I can't believe they let me come to work looking like that.

Some people damage their hair with chemicals....bleaching, straightening etc. Extensions add fullness and lenghth.

Also, some people like to go for a different look without permanently altering their hair. Suppose you want to be a blond but you don't want to strip and die your hair? You can do a full head of extensions or wear a wig.

Extensions are so common now I don't know why people even judge them anymore.

Celebrity extensionists:

All them Kardashian bitches

The Hilton heiresses (sp)

Brittney Spears

Christina Aguillera

Kate Beckinsale

Diana Ross

Chaka Khan

Gwenyth Paltrow

Real Housewives of Orange County and Atlanta

All them Destiny Children

Most of your Playboy Bunnies

The list goes on....

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

because that takes a couple of years? when you are Rihanna and your new album needs a whole new look, you can go from this to this overnight instead!

although that's probably just a wig hmmm

but long story short, IMPULSIVENESS lol want to be in current fashion NOW!

wouldnt a wig be faster than having hair sewn into one's own hair? I read somewhere that it can take up to 4 hours or more..

but imagine how hot & sweaty you'd get underneath a wig, not to mention trying to keep it on while dancing, and the fact that you cannot see a person's scalp under the wig

Plus, what does Rhianna have to do with herself but sit for 4 hours getting extensions? The lady I work with, however, wears a wig nod and every time she scratches her head it moves a little.

full wigs can come off if not glued down and pinned to death

m any prefer weaves and extensions since they wear better and the look can last for a week with little maintenance if you sleep properly in the hair

Remember, weaves can be used to alter your look...

Angela Basset wore a short weave to look like she had a pixey cut ( in the movie Waiting to Exhale), she wears her natural hair at shoulder lenght, so weaves are to go short also, not just long

weaves and extensions are supposed to leave the natural hairline intact giving a more natural look to the wearer and undetected... many fail, but they still try
