Paintedlady, I understand your statement that many of the average American's views of geography are formed by racial/racist views, but I don't think that necessarily makes Fauxie wrong for correcting your mistake. I dunno, to me it seems someone that realizes the tendency for miseducation in the US should be more open to correction on topics pertaining to general education (like geography).

And I think this could've also been de-personalized (fake word, sure) and when asked where Korea, Japan, and Vietnam were believed to be, present it the same way you did the subject of the middle east, from the perspective of where the average American is taught they are (as you were seemingly taught they were elsewhere or the subject was perhaps not covered) rather than address it as an attack on you personally.

I dunno...my unsolicited $0.02, given as peacefully as possible.

He's a decent guitarist. Check out the vid I posted and skip to the solo a minute or two from the end. Nothing mind-blowing, but he plays alright.
