Eating Healthy

Ok so being 20 and in L.A there's some really good and fattening food out here lol, and well as a lot of you saw on my weight loss video i went from 320 to 190 last year. A 2 year process and then i gained 20 ibs of muscle.

I know all the way's to eat healthy but man sometimes i just want to binge out, like tonight i want a damn grilled cheese so bad and i'm thinking why not just ONE it won't kill me. but either way it's still pretty bad.... And someday's when i am real busy with school sometimes i just want to say screw it i'm not cooking and order a pizza razz

Staying fit is like staying off drugs, i have never been on drugs luckily lol but i imagine it to be like this always craving it but knowing it's bad for you

I eat whatever I want. I need to put ON weight, if anything. So yeah, I can't empathise. Must be awful though, having that temptation.

I just eat a mix of healthy stuff and fatty stuff and that's just perfect for me. Sometimes I want to eat less, like light stuff but with a lot of protein, and other times just stuff my face to add a little weight with fat, carbs, protein and everything. It all depends what I'm trying to do at that particular point. I can't see that anything's really off-limits so long as I'm not just wantonly eating junk the whole time.

It's okay to splurge one day a week. I worked with several trainers at the gym last year, and they all recommended eat whatever you want one day each week. It throws your body a curve ball, which is good.

I this is me, too. I really feel bad when I see people struggle with keeping down weight, but it's such an intellectual sympathy for me. lol I've been casually trying to gain weight for nearly 20 years.

My wife does nearly all of our cooking. She's vegetarian and health/weight-conscious perhaps to a flaw. I can't cook to save my life, on the other hand. This all more than offsets the occasional moment when I must pig out on something utterly worthless.

It’s important to let yourself splurge once in a while. And rein yourself back in when you know you’re going overboard.

I know an entire day of splurging doesn’t work for me, but one or two meals a week where I indulge more than usual works just fine.

I also don’t mind it taking a while to reach my goals as long as I’m enjoying myself along the way. It’s more realistic for me to stick to that way.

I lost 50 pounds in 2009. I maintained for about 6 months, but slowly gained 10 pounds back the second half of last year. So I started tracking everything I eat and working out regularly again and I’ve lost 7 pounds already in the last 5 weeks. I’m going to go for 35 pounds this time around and it will probably take me till fall, but I’m losing weight right now while still having the occasional bar of fancy chocolate, glass of wine or yummy Indian meal out with friends. And I enjoy it more when I have it as it’s actually a treat.

I just made a fried pork belly sandwich. lol But see, tomorrow I'll probably have rice porridge for breakfast, and these noodle wrap things with lettuce, carrot and tuna inside for lunch, and maybe pasta with tomato sauce for dinner. It's all good. smile I'm up 1kg this last 2 weeks to 80kg too, but it's muscle. big grin

If you came in here expecting me to support your efforts not to eat a grilled cheese sandwich, you're barking up the wrong tree.

I'd have that sandwich on rye, with bacon and tomato - and fried in butter. lol

Grilled cheese is not that bad for you, just make it with whole grain bread, low fat cheese, and a butter with no partially hydrogentated oil : )

You can probably eat anything as long as you eat smartly : D

Oh. And butter - real butter, that is - never has other oils of any kind. Butter is a natural product made from cream. You know...from an animal of some sort (cow, goat, whatever). Margarine (which is what you're talking about) is barf
