Sorry, this is off-topic, relating to the Middle East...

So dark green is the 'traditional' Middle East, green is G8's 'Greater Middle East', with light green some countries sometimes associated with the Middle East by socio-political connections. None of these definitions include India, which is a country in Asia.

I know where you're coming from, it's a perception and popular understanding/usage thing, but still, the Korea, Vietnam and Japan thing completely confuses me. Korea and Vietnam aren't islands.

All the highlighted part in the continent of Africa is considered ONE fucking country in America... they only bother to study it in schools if its a private school or its on the front pages...

You're explaining you were taught incorrectly, and defending your right to be taught as such because most Americans consider 'out here' an irrelevant backwater. I get that. Of course I get that. Chinese-ish, not Indian, Pakistani etc. is I know the way a lot of South East Asians look at it all too. Thais definitely identify with Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Laotian ppl in a way they don't with Indians.

I didn't set out with the intention of ridiculing you, but I was just incredulous you could be so incorrect. Wrong enough that I couldn't let it slide. You know... I can always very easily google the stuff to make myself sound more intelligent, I go back from time to time to re-learn stuff that I was mis-taught.
