I have no desire to depend on technology that much. I use it, but I never want to depend on it. I'll stick with my regular alarm clock. Plugged into the wall with a battery backup. I barely use my cell phone for talking to people. I don't use it for anything beyond that.

I never enjoyed wearing them, and didn't do that for many, many years. Recently, when there started to be many things during the day that I had to have on my mind, I thought it would be good to start wearing one again. And it was much more practical indeed I took a lovely, big, brown watch from my mum, that's the one I would wear. I stopped again though, I feel best when there's nothing on me other than my clothes. But, every once in a while I might wear it again.

So do I, which is lucky since my hubby wears them so much. I'm firmly planted in denial

My traditional alarm clocks have always been shitty and gone bad on me after a couple years to where it just wouldn't ring in the morning. I think there was a short in the switches, the LED displays for the alarm clocks would usually flicker on and off with the slightest touch.
Anyhow, with the cell phone I can set three alarms (maybe more) with a customized tune or song for each. This is good for chronic snooze-pushers (who are too blind to see the time) like me. When that last song comes on, you know you're fucked if you don't jump out of bed immediately.
That said, I want a watch. A nice one.

I love watches. I have a few of them, but my fav is a simple Gucci that my parents bought me for my 25th birthday.
I'm not a real fan of the over-sized ones though.
