"The Game" Season Premiere on BET

It's been gone for 2 years and has been brought back on BET. Who else watched? What do you guys think of the new episode?

I watched it. neutral It’s like everyone involved was trying too hard, way over the top and totally unbelievable. I was really disappointed.

OH man...I was just talking about this show to one of my co-workers the other day. She was going on about how funny it was and blah blah blah...And I had to let her know how BORING and DULL I think it is. What is that show about anyway? I really don't think it's super popular..well, among black people at least. Who, watching that show, can relate to the characters? I miss sitcoms like Martin and Living Single. Shows that had an all black cast, and you could relate to the characters. I think the show is lacking (to me) is that although the characters are celebrities, they aren't portrayed at a "down to earth" angle, you know? I would watch the show if it was more like they were celebrities outside the house, but when they got home, they were like Martin and Gina or something.

Just my 2 cents.

I'll shut up now. biggrin

The marathons on BET made me fan, and I was really excited that BET responded to fans' response and brought back a show that was literally dead. But, if I wasn't at all familiar with the show and wtched last night's premier I would swear this show was intended as a parody.

I mean, I know the show is BET's now, but did they bring back some of the original writers or producers? Is Kelsey Grammer involved with any of it? sigh I hope it gets better as the season goes.

I watched and i thought it was pretty good. It had some interesting

twists and turns. I thought it was okay for BET to be handling it.

The cast characters were pretty spot on as they were on that other

network.

I watched a few episodes last year. It's pretty ok. confused I tried to watch the new one last night and it was just ok with me. I don't think I would care if I missed a few but I'll try to watch it. It's not a must see for me like "True Blood" or "Swamp People" oh and I have to catch up on my "Dexter" wink

Um... let me warm up my vocals

I like the fact that this time the wirters expanded on what was merely hinted at the first couple of years. Melanie still resentful of Derwin's son with Janay, will do anything she has to to cause dessension even at the cost of their marriage. Derwin now thrown into the glaring light of being everyone's favorite football player, had to balance his marriage and relationship with his son and Janay. But can he? And will he lose both if pushed too far? Malik and his ego are now out of control. He thinks he's untouchable, can't be told no and can't be stopped. How far will he go and who will cut him down to size?

I watched last night and I don't know what to think of it. Often times when shows do these leaps ahead in time, it takes a few episodes for fans to adjust. A lot of the dialogue was lame last night because it was spelling out to the audience what was going on (i.e.- Derwin explaining to Melanie how she dropped out of med school to be a Baller's Wife. Which I think viewers could just pick up on). So I thik it will hit its stride within a cople of episodes.

The show is much more dramatic, I thought I had read that BET did that intentionally due to fan's response. Me personally, I like the show a little more on the funny side. I want Malik Wright, aka 40 million dollars, aka The Holy Ghost. I also want Rick Fox back on the show. Whoever that guy was with Tasha last night, he was a terrible actor. As was the team owner's wife.

I guess I could watch a little of it. My girlfriend worked on this season's show. Would be interesting to watch her work after it's finished. She does wardrobe in movies and TV shows.

Oh, and that Media Take Out story about the White actress getting paid more than the rest of the cast isn't true. Also, Tia became really sick during the filming, which pushed everything from finishing the season by Thanksgiving. It was more so close to Christmas before it was done. Pretty expensive way to start the show. I gues Tia is OK...just a really bad stomach issue or something.

And Thank you LORD!! My friend is finally biting the bullet and moving to Atlanta. She has been staying with me or other people in Atlanta while keeping her place in Charlotte for the last three years. Me and Big Daddy were a little lovingly tired of not being able to get it on in the living room while she stayed here! Thought I'd share that with you! Ha HA!!

I'll try to watch, but that show was a kind of lame soap opera to me. But...I must support my friend!

I agree. I thought it was a good episode to re-introduce you to the characters and catch you up to what you were missing.

I always thought the show's scenarios and story lines had a lot of realistic themes, but they weren't executed well. I hope the show grows more on BET and can end on a good note (unlike Girlfriends did).

Yeah, Mel and DEFINITELY Malik's characters are more unlikable now neutral

The whole episode seemed overdramatic and rushed

I agree. I think they did that because they are trying to hurry up and get into a "current" plot. Last night's show was a "catch up" show.
