I agree. To me, it's strictly for the kids. If not for my niece and nephews, I wouldn't bother with Christmas at all.

I've had good and not so good holidays. The worst were the ones when I felt lonesome.

All the commercialism is unfortunate but it will only kill the sprit of the season if we buy into it. These days I just try to spread some good will, especially to those who feel kind of gloomy for whatever reason.

The giving has become expected and not appreciated. I entered the Secret Santa because it will be one of the only gifts I get. Being kind, considerate and generous sucks ass sometimes.

Oh well. I can comfort myself with the gift I got for me.

I don't believe in Christianity and If it wasn't for the family gathering I could care less, but I wouldn't say that I hate it.

no i got laid off. no more insurance. i've had this stomach acid thing for yrs though. i dont have diabetes like alot of my family but i bet cause i've barely eaten in 2 weeks its low blood sugar......i need candy...

Not to get too far off topic but get yourself checked even if you have to go to the clinic. You want to be in good shape to enjoy the next show.

i've been getting into the 12 holy nights the past few years -- great way to make a positive new beginning -- just make a point to notice all the good you can find in everything -- your dreams, the weather, everything, from christmas to epiphany, (or anytime i reckon, but doing it now has cured the post-xmas fall i used to feel). even in what seems bad, seek the good, and these bear fruit in the 12 months to come.

for example, probably because i was looking for it, i had a dream last holy nights that made my soul soar anytime i thought about it through this whole past year -- useful gifts!

but yeah, i'm tired of all the gift buying stuff.

Never celebrated Christmas. My mom spoiled my brother and I with her love and kindness. We always were thankful and provided for daily. It isn't a one day out of the year thing for us. Growing up, We had what we need and wanted already. The hype and the pressure Christmas generates for families just never appealed to me. Watching parents waste their last dime away for a toy their child will play with for maybe a month or two seems silly. <- Because that is what Christmas is about for most people. I rarely hear people talk about the Christian aspect or giving .... it's all about "I want this, I want that." ME. ME. ME. Seeing kids throw temper tantrums over unwanted or lack of toy just always made me stirr away from this corporate holiday.

well i put on some prince video and ate a whole ramen noodle soupbpacket...and a bunch of saltines...feel much better
