Longest Day, Shortest Day

Today December 22nd is the Summer Solstice here in New Zealand, however I know its the opposite in the Northern hemisphere. Just out of interest give us the sunrise and sunset times where you are and he weather and temperature. And Location if you can, its an interestingly curious thread to see where is it the hottest, coldest, longest daylight, shortest etc

I will start, here Auckland 36.54 South

Sunrise 5.57 am, Sunset 8.40pm (Daylight savings time) Daylength 14 hour 43 mins

Weather, sunny start and overcast afternoon, very warm, Highs of 31.4 celsius (89F) (Unofficial) 28 official, Well above December average high of 22 celsius

I would honsetly swap this heat with any of you cats caught in the snow

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

sorry about that. minnesota has had record breaking snowfalls over the last month.

our sports arena ceiling even popped from the weight of snow.

so, i'm looking forward to the daylight increasing, the snow melting, and a general all around return to spring-like weather.

in another... oh, eight months or so sigh

We never get snow, if you want snow, you have to go up into the mountains or the South Island if your lucky might get light snowfalls in the winter (Although this year - Christchurch where I was born had a snowfree winter, all they got was a nasty earthquake). Even when it snows, its like the 1 or 2 degree plus variety rather than the -20 stuff.

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

We are talking about day length as into the length of daylight. The time between sunrise and sunset

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time
