I think we should talk about Christmas songs!!! ....and also why some people replies have really small fonts

Lets name our fave Christmas song, or two!!

biggrin

And whats up with the really little fonts?

My fave is

http://www.youtube.com/wa...r_embedded

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

Silent Night

I was singing Let It Snow to the baby earlier, he was giggling and moving his head back and forth.

The BEST version of the song imo is the Temptations!

No, No, its not a bad song. Its about hardships, and coming to America, and love, it actually has a great message to it.

hmmm I listened to it all. I'm game for nontraditional songs, but I couldn't get it. Perhaps it was the heavy accents and the music.

Any version of We Three Kings. But this is a favorite from childhood! It's funny how years of retail and food service turned me into a Christmas Music hater. But being away from it eased me back in. But I reallly HATE those radio stations that play holiday music from October to January. Kill me now!

I can think of very few traditional Christmas carols I don't absolutely love, but my favorites are...

* Angels We Have Heard on High

* Gabriel's Message

* Christ Child's Lullaby - the original song has 29 verses sang in Scottish Gaelic, though shake; my favorite versions are by Dianne Reeves and Shawn Colvin, who sing only 3 or 4 verses from the midsection that conclude in the line -- in English -- "the Graces all grow up with thee." Beautiful stuff.

μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

And being one of the 10 worldwide fans of Badly Drawn Boy, I like his Donna & Blitzen. It has a very traditional sound to it.
