I hate guns and think they should be illeagal, and yet...I have to admit I want one, and think they are fucking cool! All the more reason for me to not get one.

I do think I should take a trip to the firing range though, just to see what shooting is like without bringing one into my home.

I've got three handguns that belonged to my father stuck in a canvas bag in the corner of a closet. I have no idea what types of guns they are. I remember one is silver with a pearl handle and the other two, I haven't a clue. I guess I should take them to a gun shop to get them appraised?

that one might be valuable. get it checked out. or, look online to see if you can find a similar model

Read the Toronto news today about the gang members who were just aquitted for killing an 11 year old boy. I could do away with pieces of shit like that without any regrets at all.

Thanks. You know, I've never thought about checking on line. I'm just scared to handle the blasted things. I don't know the first thing about guns and how to tell if they're loaded, etc. I guess when I pull them out of the closet, I should handle them very, very gently?

If you've got guns in a closet and you don't even know if they're loaded...that concerns me. Have a friend over who knows about guns. And keep clear of the business end!

i dunno about actually popping someone. i suppose i could if it were necessary, like self defense.

i heard a story of a kid that stole a gun and shot another kid. the mom of the murder victim was understandable upset but she said something (well over a year later) that made me go 'what?!"

She said that the "kid that murdered her son had illegally obtained the murder weapon so we need more gun control laws."

But if he got the gun illegally then what makes her think that he would have said "oh guns are illegal I better not steal this gun and murder this guy...."

but it all goes back to: if you do not like them do not get one. They pose no direct threat of harm to anyone. If anything needs to be banned it is people.

yeah I hope I never have to make that decision. Not that I have a gun but you know. It would suck to shoot someone even if it was in defence of myself or others (or my property).

i have a gun, but am not in any hurry to use it. it's purpose in my life is as a 'just in case' measure.

the last time I had the chance to go shooting I changed my mind when I saw what bullets cost. I was like "for get this" and we went to a bar. But the range was cool. you could rent a gun with a discount if you bought the bullets there.

Criminals get guns from gun shows and gunshops. We need to be sane and regulate guns better.
